My brother and SIL are joining us for a couple days of our February trip. Their son will be 16m old. My daughter was 4 the first time we went so I've never thought about DLR from the toddler angle. I'm sure Winnie the Pooh would be a hit. IASW would be good too but it will be down for refurb. I'm sure riding the train would be good. I'm sure Dumbo will be on the list and the canal boats. Maybe the parade.

What am I missing.

I believe that he may enjoy the jungle cruise and also the enchanted tiki room show .... he can share his goldfish crackers with Jose, I do which is one of the reasons why Jose loves me so much...... ;) :)

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

We just took our 16 month old. She loved The little mermaid ride. She also did the monster's inc ride and now has a love for mike wazowski. She rode pirate's and haunted mansion with no problems. We did most of Fantasyland. I suggest sitting in the back if you go see disney junior live on stage, more room to dance around and you can actually see the puppets.

A baby that age will pretty much love anything where there is stuff to look at - but beware that the dark rides you think they'd like are often scary from their standpoint.

My kids are MESMERIZED when we go to the Enchanted Tiki Room! Definitely a hit for toddlers and babies (at least mine)...

My daughter was 16 months for our first WDW trip. She went on every ride that didn't have a height requirement. She loved it all. Shows, parades. She liked the characters from afar, but not up close. Other than character meet n greets, she loved it all. Danced a lot and had a blast.

I took my son at 16 months on everything his height allowed him to go on and he loved them all with an exception for pirates... He got a little scared on the 2 drops. His favorite seems to be the train of course as all little boys love trains

We just returned from our trip and my son is 16 months. He loved every single ride and every single show. We took him on everything he could ride and some were bigger hits than others. Somethings that stand out: Nemo subs, Winnie the Pooh, Bugs Land, Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Peter Pan, The Jungle Cruise... and yes, I agree with what the other PP's have said as well...Tiki Room was a hit with my toddler.

Thanks everyone. We are seeing them for Thanksgiving and will probably talk a little bit about strategy/planning. DD and I will try to get most of our must sees out of the way on the first two days of our trip and then spend some time enjoying the baby the second two days. Definitely will save the Tiki room and Winnie the pooh to do with them. I'm so bummed that IASW is going to be down. I was looking forward to that. Maybe I'll get lucky and the dates will change.

I agree with all the ride suggestions. Our daughter also LOVED the characters. We did Storytellers one morning for breakfast and she was so curious to touch and interact with the characters that came by. She is 2.5 now and meeting characters is still her favourite thing.

That said, every child is different. Some are not okay with the characters. I guess you will find out soon.

Oh just a side thought.....at that age our daughter loved the hand held character themed spinning glow things (there is a proper word for them, I just can't think of it) that are sold at night at the vending carts and during the day in the stores. She also loved a small bouncy ball that lights up each time it bounces. Those 2 things kept her entertained the whole trip.

Just wanted to reiterate others' thoughts on scariness. I actually think a 16mo might do better than our 34mo did because she is just *so* young, but my toddler found every dark ride except IASW (where he already knows the song forward and backwards and adores the tune--along with Jingle Bells, so IASWH was a big hit) utterly terrifying, including Winnie, which made me really sad. But when you look at those rides from their perspective, they make a million blind twists and turns and are filled with loud songs, voices, and noises, and crazy colors. He also hated going backwards, so what for me was one of the more enchanting parts of Little Mermaid, the descent, freaked him out.
Having said that about *indoor* rides, he whooped it up on anything outdoors he was tall enough for at 38", with Mater's and Luigi's being rides we went on multiple times each day. He also made multiple requests for Astro Orbiters and Dumbo, Mickey's Fun Wheel, and both carousels, and thought Jungle Cruise was OK. The Tiki Room was indoors and has thunder and lightning, so scary at times for him.
As for characters, he was hesitant the first couple of days, but by our second week had no problem giving hugs and high-fiving characters in costume. He was always fine with the face actors (read: princesses and fairies).
