I am thinking about booking an excursion day trip to various places in Florida.

Was just thinking, it would be great to hear about your excursion experiences!

We absolutely love Discovery Cove - its the best day of our holiday - not cheap, but worth every penny! We don't bother with the dolphin swim tho - saves pounds and theres so much to do there you don't miss it. The atmosphere is great and it's not crowded like everywhere else because they limit numbers.

We really enjoyed our hot air balloon trip. It was a very early morning but it was well worth it.

We also relly enjoy our trips to Clearwater beach. That beach is so nice and the water is crystal clear and lovely.

I agree 100% it is fantastic and one of the highligts of my last trip to orlando. The Dolphin swim was amazing but it is extra plus you get the option of either a 7 day sea world or busch gardens pass or you can have both but its extra not sure how they deal with aquatica but all the info will be on the website.

Another vote for Discovery Cove. We went on our first trip and it rates as one of the best experiences of my life. :cloud9:

On our first trip to Florida we booked an excursion to Clearwater which included a trip on the clearwater screamer speedboat, lunch and the afternoon on the beach. It was a really good day. I've also spoken to people that have enjoyed the excursions to Miami and the Everglades so it really depends on what kind of thing you are interested in.

The excursions are obviously more expensive that taking your own car and getting out and about but the first time we went to Florida we didn't hire a car and were desperate to get outwith Orlando and see some of the 'real' Florida so to speak. Now we make a point of spending half our holiday in Orlando and half elsewhere. :)

We've also been to Discovery Cove and stayed in Clearwater (great place to take a boat trip to watch dolphins too) - another vote for either one :)

How about a day at the Space Centre? and for our trip next year I am also looking at booking an airboat ride to see the Central Florida Everglades and wildlife: http://www.bcairboats.com/ :)
