Okay, many of the eventer are back and others have seen the actual pins from the event. Which one or ones is the best in your opinion? It could be the one you think was most valuable, most rare, or just the best looking.
The 2 most valuable individual pins in my opinion would be the Stitch gift pin from Disney Auctions and the Chip and Dale PTP. The Skyway pin was also in great demand.
The one I feel came out the best was the Time Traveller Mickey AC pin. The glass bubble plussing really makes this pin.
The one I feel was MUCH better looking than the artwork was the Minnie People Mover pin.
The Sands of Time set was nicer than I thought it would be as it had real sand in it and had to be flipped to see the either set of pins. The Cool Cats framed set was in high demand.
The largest disappointment was the Ursula 20,000 Lgs. pin. This is the second pin to get Ursula's coloring wrong. Here skin is not a straight grey. It is has a purplish hue very much like the plant beneath her.
I have to offer second votes for the Minnie Peoplemover and the Mickey AC pins. They both are very good looking pins.
As mentioned in another post...I am not a cat person, but the cats AC pin is also very nice.
The Mike pin from the third map set is absoultely adorable. DH says Mike's expression is so real that you can almost hear Billy Crystal screaming when you look at the pin.
I know that three items totally sold out before the 3rd RSP:
Cats framed set (LE 25)
Skyway AC pin
Tink TV pin set
On the dud list, in my opinion,:
Ursula 20,000 Leagues
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Vintage Mickey
the Mickey AC pin and the people mover pins look great ..
I did win the Genie Set ( LE 75 ) on my RSP and returned it .. the pins were soooooooo small you couldn`t hardly see them in the frame :-((
The C&D pintrading pin was a really great surprise and i like the mickey and pluto pins from the map sets ... finally someone stopped them and tied them to a stretcher .... evilgrin )
And the new set of lanyard series pins is great !!! Great Artwork and they were fairly distributed, too !!!
A great event with value for my money !
Was great seeing you over there .. will be back next year for sure !
The Tink TV set did not sell out before the 3 rd RSP because I was able to get it for a friend at home with my 3 rd RSP. I also tried for the Skyway pin on the 3 rd RSP but did not get it.
I really liked almost every pin from this event and think Disney did a really great job with the whole event from A to Z.
I agree about the vintage Mickey pin though, that was my one real disappointment in the pins released.
I think the country pins are some of the best yet - wonder why they only did 5.
The only bad news, as far as I'm concerned, is the announcement of Ralph Kent's retgirement in May. Wonderful artist, and even more wonderful person - he will be greatly missed.
