Best Entree/Dessert at Kona?

I just added a late night dinner at Kona for after Fantasmic next Sunday. (We're from Seattle, so 9pm will feel like 6pm to us.) Any people who have been there before, what do you recommend for dinner and dessert?

My favorite entree is Teriyaki-style New York Strip and my favorite dessert is Kilauea Torte

Just had a delightful dinner there the end of August.
I had the Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini: it was excellent! It was very tender with tons of flavor. The potatoes were soooo good. The broccolini was little to crunchy for my taste, but who needs something green for dinner anyway.
For dessert I had the Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee - with a chocolate spiral: it was heavenly. It was one of (if not THE) best desserts I had on our trip.

I've had the Shrimp and Scallops and it was great. The banana chocolate creme brulee was fabulous for dessert. We also really enjoyed the crab cake appetizer. This was my favorite meal during my last trip.

i've had the teryaki steak 2x but the last time we ate it in January, it was served with rice. i said that the last time i got it, it was w/ potatoes and she said it's always w/ rice, so ask for a substitution if you want the potatoes. i didnt enjoy the rice but it left room for everything else, like that glorious welcome bread w/ macadamia nut butter. oh it's heavenly. as for desserts i like to be a kid and get the Kona cone, it comes w/ toppings to put on it and it's in a waffle cone w/ cotton candy sticking out.. the side effect is all the nearby kids will be staring at you and asking their parents for it. my DH loves the creme brulee. If you can pay $12 for the sticky wings appetizer i highly suggest it! it's enough for an entree and they're the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a great time!

Another vote for the teriyaki steak with the potatoes, & the Kona Cone. This was the best meal that we had all week at Disney.

The meal that I like best is the crab cakes (an appetizer) and a salad. Last time I had a tough time picking a dessert and went with the no sugar added apple stack. It was yummy.

Had the Tuna oscar last year and loved it! 12 more days until I can order it again. I ordered it med rare and it was perfect. fried green tomatoes very yummy as well.

we ate there last week i got the teriyaki new york strip and DW got the grilled pork chop. both were very good.

DH likes the teriyaki New York strip steak and I like the Rib Eye. We both like the Kona Kone.

Drink: A Lapu Lapu or three

Starter: The used to have a tempura shrimp sushi roll. I do not see it on the menu anymore.

Meal: Tuna Oscar - Served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise

Dessert: Banana-chocolate Creme Brulee - really good. On the drive home from Disney last time we stopped at a really nice restaurants in The Ballantyne hotel in North Carolina.
The waitress recommended a desert that she said the chef had just introduced and it was something we had probably never had.
It was Banana-chocolate Creme Brulee.
When I told her I had had it the night before she could not believe it and then the chef came out and I had to tell him that we had it at Disney the night before.

Last week at Kona, our most recent visit, I had the rib eye and my wife had the teriyaki strip. Both were excellent. My son got the kids fish plate and even that was great - it was a piece of grilled mahi mahi. For dessert I have repeated getting the white chocolate cheese cake.

I love just about everything at Kona, but special consideration goes to the shrimp and scallops and the tuna Oscar. For dessert, I generally stick with the Kilauea torte or the white chocolate cheesecake.

Wow that is really weird. We had dinner there on August 30th and the Teriyaki New York Strip came with sticky rice. I really like the Yukon gold potatotes so I asked for a substitution and got it. Now I notice the updated menu on AllEars has the potatoes with the New York Strip and thats what you got.

Who would have thought that my asking for a substitution would have led them to change their menu.

As for dessert, I always get the Kona Kone, but then I love ice cream.

Still, the highlight of Kona Cafe is the incredible bread with the macadamia nut butter.

Kona is a great choice. We had one of our best dinners there 2yrs ago. It was a bit noisy since they sat us right in the front, but the food was quite good. I had the shrimp/scallops thing and dh had the fillet. My banana creme brulee' was ok, but I really loved my son's Kona Kone. It was huge and came with cotton candy. Yummy.

Not as weird as you think! The menu did have sticky rice listed and I asked to sub it for the mashed potatoes. We were there on the Aug 20th..so maybe it was me that had them change their menu.
And I totally agree with you about the bread and butter. YIKES! That is good stuff!

I love both the Teriyaki -style steak and the Shrimp and Scallops! I like the chocolate fondue, but I noticed many mentioned the Kona Kone! My ds loves it, but cotton candy isn't really my thing!
