What is the best route from Hollywood to Disneyland on a Tuesday morning?
I know, I know, horrible traffic. We are planning to leave about 10:00 am. I know the driving times can vary greatly, but what should I expect? I'm good with maps/directions and my husband is a great driver, so I'm not nervous, just need the best way. Thanks!

Shouldn't be too bad, maybe about an hour or so. Just get on the 5 heading south and it's a direct route. Remember to keep an eye open for the Matterhorn, because that's the first thing you'll see. Also, you'll drive past the Disneyland offices (weird yellowish iridescent color), which are fairly obvious because they have the back of the Toontown backdrop behind them (it all adds to building the excitement of the sense of arriving).

Actually the I-5 doesn't go through Hollywood. You would take the 101 south and pick up I-5 in the downtown LA maze. You'll be going through the "East LA" interchange:

Good Grief! And I thought Seattle was bad! :lmao:

We're going to Hollywood on either Sunday or Monday of Veteran's Day weekend. Looks like that might be a smart move... maneuvering the maze of this freeway will be bad enough without the commute on top of it. :sad2:

You must not have read my post (right above yours). The transition from the 101 to the 5 is a straight shot. There is no "maze" to maneuver.

That's good to know. I'm not all that thrilled to be going to Universal, but everyone else wants to...same goes for Knott's.

I'd rather spend all my time at DL and DCA, but I guess I have to think of everyone...not just lil' ole me. :)
