We just had a great vacation at BLT, and our 2 1/2 yo DD loved the water play area. I was wondering which resort has the best water play area. I have seen pictures of the ones in Kidani Village and at BCV, but I want some first hand experience.

My kids liked the one at BLT also but LOVED the one at Kidani village. It was much larger and had climbing equipment , slides, dumping buckets, and water guns. The only thing is I had to keep following them because it is more spread out. At BLT I could sit in a chair and watch them right there.

Last May, our DGC ages 4, 5and 6 had a very late ME pickup (it was around 6PM) . It was not a problem because they entertained themselves very nicely at Kidani's pool!

Does the slide dump you into a pool, or is it a regular slide? My DD does not swim yet...

The play area/splash pad slides are not water slides and don't dump you in a pool. They have those rubbery grounds and water splashes all around. There are 2 other waterslides (one baby one BIG) that go into the pool.

Another vote for Kidani spash area. My 12mo old and 4yo both had the best time at the Kidani pool. The pool may be smaller than Jambos, but IMO that was much better when keeping up with young children. It was easy to have my baby crawl and play in the splash pad and still keep an eye on my 4yo going down the big slide into the pool.

For kids under 7 - AKV Kidani is the best there is.

For kids older than 7 - Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club is best.

I can tell you that BWV has the worst for little ones. It is simply a kiddie pool. So, wish they would just shut down the pool and re-modle. A zero-entry, a splash area...Disney please read this and respond before my kids are too old to enjoy this:goodvibes

Kidani has a great kids play area. Also SSR has a decent one at the high rock springs pool and my DD's loved the one in the Grandstand section of SSR. It has water shooting out of horses that they could turn and squirt at each other.

Try some of the other resorts. They have great pools!!

We vote for Kidani as well. We had 2, 6, 7, & 12 yo boys there last summer who alll had a BLAST playing there all afternoon.

Another vote for Kidani--and I loved the benches in the shade!! :thumbsup2

We are staying at the BWV, is it far to walk to Stormaway Bay?

It is just on the other side of the lake - 7-8 minutes or so. However, pool hopping is restricted at some resort pools and Stormalong Bay is one of the pools where other guests are not permitted to swim. You can certainly go have a look around, though!

Boo :( For some reason I thought DVC members were allowed to share pools! Oh well, I think my kids will be young enough to just have fun with swimming but maybe next time we will stay somewhere else.

Thanks for the info!

DVC members are allowed to pool hop but the pools at BCV, AKV & BLT are off limits to pool hopping. You can only use those pools when you are staying at that particular resort. Pool hopping is also suspended during peak travel times (I think they are listed on the member site) and at the discretion of the pool staff (if the pool is at capacity).

Thanks for the info! It will probably be really inconvenient to shuffle the kids to another resort but its great info so when I book for next time I know! :)
