Best double-stroller for WDW

What is the best double-stroller for WDW? We traveled to WDW last year, when our twins were 7-months-old. We took our Graco DuoGlider, but it's heavy, and was cumbersome at certain points...especially the rush to board the airplane (we checked it at the gate).

This trip, our twins will be 19-months-old. I'm wondering if we should get a lighter, side-by-side stroller. Looking for advice. Is a basket underneath essential? Does anyone know of two individual strollers that can be combined into a double stroller?

The cushioned handle of our DuoGlider got pretty torn up when stored under the plane. Not sure how much money I should spend if it's just going to get banged up on the flight.

We are looking for a stroller for our upcoming trip too

we have it narrowed down to the Jeep all weather and the peg Aria

both are side by side, both are umbrella style

The aria is almost $200 and folds larger but only weighs 14lbs

the Jeep is only $80 folds to almost nothing and weighs 22lbs

its a hard choice

My vote ~ the Chicco Velocita !!! I truly believe better quality than the Jeep (if you like I could also give you seat bottom dimensions) & almost ½ the price of the Aria! It’s actually our 9th stroller, meanwhile we only have 2 DDs (ages 5 & 3), most we’ve enjoyed for different reasons @ different ages/stages, some I’ve sold pretty quick (Sit-n-Stand), However, I truly believe the Chicco to be my favorite (it's a Beautiful stroller! ) ~ I didn’t want to spend too much on our last stroller just for Disney & maybe a misc. day in D.C. or zoo, etc. however, wanted the convenience of an umbrella fold (something we’ve never had before~LOVE it!) yet not sacrifice comfort for the kids, & all the doubles/twins I tried, my oldest (just a Little Peanut) looked stuffed in, I was ready to bite the bullet & go for a Maclaren! I’m thankful I didn’t, we are thrilled w/ the Chicco & the raincover (INCLUDED w/the Velocita! ) was more than worth the price alone! We were caught in 2 downpours @ Disney, the second on our way out of MK, since we just wanted to get back to the resort we went for it, the adults were soaked down to our socks, the girls dry & sound asleep!

P.S. I got mine in a gorgeous navy pinstripe, like new (plastic still on foot rests) for $100 total w/shipping off ebay. Also be sure to check craigslist, I have only recently found them, otherwise may have had even more strollers!

Another Vote for the Chico Velocita. I just purchased mine about a month ago from albee baby for $119.00 for our upcoming trip. We have used it an love it. Let me know if you have any other questions on it,

We used a Aria Peg Perego (twin) when we went in December. Our twins were just over two at the time, and it was WONDERFUL! I purchased it on ebay, and since it was a discountinued pattern I got it very cheap. Love the stoller so much it is now our "everyday" stroller.

I didn't have a stroller bag for the plane, and it was fine when we landed. We used the baskets some, but mainly we just hooked stuff on the handlebars.

Our twins LOVE this stroller - they really like sitting next to each other and holding hands.

I have to put in a vote for the Maclaren. The Chicco only holds 37 lbs per side, so that could get you to 3 - 3 1/2 years of age(?) and the ages for that stroller are 6-36 months. If you are a dedicated WDWer, you will want your stroller to last for many, many WDW trips and be able to handle your growing children so you don't have this problem again in a few more years! I haven't tried it, but the stroller connectors sound like a great idea. Good luck.

We bought the cheep umbrilla strollers. They sell clips at Babies r us to clip them together. We then placed a bag on the back of each for sancks/drinks. These are light, easy to tote, quick to fold on busses and easy to hold on the buss. Plus if you want you can unclip the clips and seperate them which is nice. I think we paid $15.00 a piece for them. Works great for us.

We also used separate umbrella strollers for our twins at WDW. It was easy to fold them and carry them onto transportation. We also brought along the clips sold by Babies R Us so if one of us needed to push them both we could clip them together.

Just a tip on umbrella stroller purchases---make sure you push it in the store to determine if the handles are high enough for your comfort. Also, put your kids in it to see that they are comfortable. There are many cheap umbrella strollers that are pretty short...we had some short ones from SEARS--- my back would hurt after a while of pushing them---and I'm only 5'4"! I ended up buying new ones for our trip because of this...here's what we bought for WDW...I'm going to use them again on our next trip!---
