I stuffed some scrap in my pickup at work today & made a run to the recycling center. On the way, I noticed a little girl with a lemonade stand. On the way back, I saw she was still there, so I stopped. $.75 for a cup. I gave her a dollar & told her to keep the change. Was none too sweet, and a little watered down (was cold), but that was the best $1 I've spent in some time. :)

And I am sure you made her day. My 10 year old had a stand a few weeks ago(only 25 cents a cup, lol) and she just beamed whenever she made a sale.

Well, I hope I made her day, but her little smile sure made mine :)

Side note, I think that kid had $15-20 in her jar :thumbsup2

Fresh Lemonade!?!!!

maybe shes that girl in that Verizon commercial... :P

I love lemonade stands. :goodvibes

I stop at everyone I pass, even if it means turning around and going out of my way. The just make me happy and ooze good summer vibes. :beach:

What a sweet thing to do! My sons are having a lemonade stand this Friday. They are trying to raise money for their school chorus trip to Disney World. I hope there are some nice people in Tuscaloosa this Friday who will support them.

In a world unfortunately with so many bad things happening u did good! God Bless you for this and it made her day. Also Karma, I believe this will come back to you :love: ten fold.

When I was about 15, my older brother was 18 and he was a big jerk (in my eyes). My mom made him drive me to a friend's house, and the two of us sat in silence. We came upon a little girl selling clumps of weeds with a string tied around them, for 50 cents each. My brother drove past her, and then did a big u-turn. He gave the little girl a $10 bill. She was very business-like with him. Then as we dove away, she leaped into the air and screamed, "I got $10!!!!" Both my brother and I had huge smiles on our faces, and it made me see him in a different light.

From that point on, I have ALWAYS stopped at lemonade/whatever sales, and I always give the kid more than what they're asking. It's one of my favorite things to do. :)

What??..............you consumed food from a stranger??......a child no less????:scared1:

Don't you read the DIS Boards?;);)

What a sweet story. I must be overly emotional today because it brought tears to my eyes :goodvibes

Awesome story! Thanks for sharing that with us! :goodvibes

And thank you OP, for starting this thread. I'm sure you made that child's day.

I tend to try to stop at lemonade/kool aide stands if I can. I remember what it was like when I was a kid, sitting out there waiting for 'business'. I love giving the money to the kids and watching them act all business-like when 'selling'.

We live "out" as in we have one neighbor on our road and the next closest is about 1/2 mile away. We are the last two houses on our road. This weekend we came in and our 5 year old neighbor had a table in the yard with a .05 sign. We stopped and asked what he was selling--it was "blow a bubble"!! Of course I'd JUST cleaned out my purse and car so I had no change. I told him we'd be right back and he RAN into the house telling his family something (I'm thinking it was excitement for selling a bubble). I sent my son and his gf back with a several quarters and they stayed and blew a couple of bubbles. It was adorable!:goodvibes
