I'm planning a WDW + Disney Cruise honeymoon for April 2006.

Which resort hotel is the best for a honeymoon? Looking for some place romantic and relaxing.

Any tips on getting discounts or honeymoon perks?

Thanks in advance!

I would say the Polyanesian, we stayed there our first trip and it was so wonderful. It is a deluxe though, so for moderate I would have to say French Quarter. Have never stayed at any value resorts so I am not sure about those.

for deluxe i would say the boardwalk garden suites with your private garden entrance, large tub & nearby entertainment & ambiance plus conceriege service. for moderate port orleans riverside magnolia mansion. for value i would say allstar music less kids than the other two.

as for perks get the wedding ears hats from dtd or mouseshoppe.com no guaranteed perks but have heard you can get congrats, free dessert & some ride vehicles just for you two.

I think that it would all depend on your taste. We honeymooned at the WL as it suited our style best. Our moderate of choice (which we almost did) is POR as it has the romantic feel of the old south.

Thanks, everyone! This is really helpful!

Does anyone know how much a honeymoon room in Grand Floridian costs? Has anyone stayed in one?

We are staying Grand Flrodian Concierge for ours. We are also getting married at the wedding pavilion so it makes sense.

We stayed a the GF- We'd never been there before and I had always wanted to stay there. We had reserved a garden view, but we were upgraded to a lagoon view with a beautiful view of magic kingdom and cinderella's castle and we had one of the dormer rooms with a private balcony. We also got the king bed we had requested. we were on a tight budget, so upgrading to a deluxe was a big splurge for us, but I am so glad we did. But like someone else said, it's a matter of your taste and style. All the resorts have their own theme so choose what's best for you. If it's in your budget, i would go with a deluxe because of the easy transportation to the parks and pick one near your favorite park.

Depending on time of year, hotel costs vary alot including the GF, which is amazing. Since it is your honeymoon, if it is in your budget, I would go to one of the "Deluxe" hotels, but if you need a moderate, the poster above who mentioned Port Orleans is right on...it is very nice. One that might be good for honeymooners if you don't go for the GF is the Yacht Club...it is a beautiful place with the most amazing pool of any resort there. Plus, I have noticed that there do not seem to be as many kids there compared to the other resorts (since it is your romantic honeymoon and you may not want kids screaming all over the place if possible :)). If you like Epcot, it is right around the corner and can be walked to and is also located on the Boardwalk so you have all that activity right there. Great hotel!

Perhaps I'm a little bit biased, but for weddings and honeymoons, the Grand just sparkles a little brighter and seems to be the center of the universe. Did I mention that I am a little bit biased?!? LOL

There are many great hotels on property to choose from, and places like the Boardwalk, Yacht and/or Beach Club, Poly, Wilderness Lodge, etc. will take good care of you during this special time.

For the money, ounce for ounce, booking on the conceirge (I can't spell)level at the Grand is something that you will never forget! You can enjoy the food, beverages, the yum-o-lcious desserts of the conc. floor, plus if you beg, borrow and plead, you might even get one of the rooms that look out over the marina with a direct viefw of the MK for sights, sounds and fireworks! If you leave the windows open from those rooms, you can actually hear the neatest sounds drifting in over the water in the evening from the park. Things like the train horn, the laughter of the occasional little kid on main street, sometimes you even hear the coyote sound effects and other songs, effects and such from the park. It is SO neat! :Pinkbounc

Wherever you choose, be sure to talk to your EM, plus tell the conceirge at your hotel, as well as the front desk management, when you check in why you are there. They will likely go the extra mile to help you with the extra special touches that can add to the experience.

Have fun and enjoy! :wizard:

The Grand Floridian. Not sure how much it cost. Our whole package, including wedding, reception, limo, cake, 6 nights at the GF was about $6,300.

I am also wondering what is the best hotel in WDW for honeymooning. I just want a HUGH jacuzzi tub!!!! Can anyone recommend? :teeth:

I can help you with that! I stayed in a 1 Bedroom suite at Old Key West during my first WDW trip. It had a huge bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub! The whole suite was bigger than my apartment!!! *_*

we were on a budget so we stayed at ASMo throughout our whole trip. it didn't really matter to me what hotel we stayed at as long as we were there. we did stay at GF on our wedding night though. i guess it all depends on your taste and your budget. if you can afford to go all out for your hotel room, by all means, go with whatever hotel you feel deems worthy of your stay. if you're on a budget, do the same.

Can anyone confirm that castle views are NOT available in these rooms?

GF Concierge Lodge
GF Concierge Deluxe

But IS available at...?

GF Concierge Main
GF Concierge Honeymoon

I know I'm not guaranteed a castle view but I'd like a chance. :teeth:

Thanks in advance and thanks to everyone for their input! I think I'm getting close to a decision...hopefully!

I don't know the answer, but you might want to ask this on the Resorts board as well. Someone there might know.

We liked the BWI on our honeymoon but are now DVC (Disney Vacation Club) members and get to stay in the villas on our trips. You can rent points from DVC members and get EXCELLENT rates (cheaper than rack rates and you don't have to pay taxes or fees). PM me if you're interested. Although I don't have any points to rent to you, I can help you figure out how much it might cost you and point you in the right direction. The villas are really nice and all the 1br and 2br villas come with full kitchens, big whirlpool tubs, washers and dryers. OKW by far has the largest rooms of the DVC resorts but you can choose from BWV, BCV, SSR, OKW, or VWL and all of those rooms are really nice and very large compared to any standard room on site.

If money's no object, I'd splurge on a true suite at one of the resorts. I'd really like to try the garden suites (previous mentioned by someone on this thread) at the BWI.

PookieB if you want a resort hotel with a great jacuzzi tub you need to check out the garden suites at the Boardwalk. These suites are perfect for a honeymoon!

We did the Wilderness Lodge and it was amazing. Quiet, and lots of places away from kids, nice trail walks. Also the Poly would have been nice.. BUT we just loved the WL, lots of hidden couches with firplaces that are on each floor that you can sit and cuddle :)
