Hey all. What is the best Disney hotel for families with kids? My DD is 7 and my hubby and I want a hotel w/o too much noise (no teens partying late at night, ect...). Can be either value or moderate. Also is there a certain building number that is prefered? TIA :)

I like Port Orleans Riverside. The rooms are a good size, and it has two pools, plus activities like paddle boats and horse and carriage rides. We stayed there last time, and my whole family enjoyed it. =)

Hope you find the right hotel!

Thanks! Riverside sure looks beautiful! And the paddle boats/carriage rides sound great! :)

I've loved Wilderness Lodge for the casual family feeling of it; it also has the boat rentals and carriage rides nearby at Fort Wilderness.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong anywhere. I have stayed at all star sports and movies and it wasn't loud like I thought it would be.
Even during a big dance competition in late Jan with a lot of girls, we found that it wasn't bad at all.

We have also stayed at POFQ several times and like it there as well. If our budget allows for it we would stay there. POR was OK too. We swam at the quiet pool because it was quiet a distance to the main pool.

We have stayed at Poly, AKL and Beach Club as well and liked them a lot. If you aren't on a budget, any of the deluxe resorts would be fine. Beach Club is our all time favorite. Although, if we stayed there, we could only afford to go every 10 years or so.

Thanks so much for the reviews and input!! It is a bit overwhelming, and you all are so informative! :)

Our boys always loved POFQ. They like it's quiet, laid back atmosphere and the great pool. They are now 11 and 12 and still enjoy when we stay a night or two there. DH and I loved the close proximity to everything and it's overall relaxation appeal. There are only 7 buildings which means they are all close. We have stayed in building 4 & 5 and liked both.

I have heard the all star resorts are too loud and overwelming. Is this true. I want somewhere quiet to come back to in the afternoon for my little one to take a nap.

Can I just take a moment to :rotfl: at your thread title? I mean come on its Disney.:lovestruc

Seriously, I would stay at a value or upgrade to the WL. I would pick an All Star resort that suits your child's tastes. Big sports junkie? Its gotta be the AS Sports. Music....? Is Toy Story, or 101 Dalmations, or Herbie one of your child's favorite movies? Then you just have to stay at the ASMovies.

Another great place to consider for peace and quiet is Ft Wilderness. AAA members get a 25% discount, which prices it very close to the cost of a moderate. The place a very peaceful and you get full amenities like a kitchen and the all important bedroom door to close on sleeping kids.

If you plan on coming back for naps, don't forget to consider the transportation. We've stayed at a couple of the value resorts and liked them a lot. However, it would not be a quick trip back to jump on the bus for a nap. By the time you take the bus back to the park, you're looking at a pretty long commute. We're looking at the same thing right now, but trying to figure out which hotel would be most convenient for midday naps. Of course, monorail hotels are most convenient for this but also most expensive.

we've stayed at Polynesian, and Contemporary on the monorail - with major deals - very nice and definately felt spoiled!!

We stayed at Port Orleans, and loved the area, hated transportation - long walks from our mansion to food court...

Wilderness Lodge is a nice compromise (we stayed for a weekend, loved the boat transportation to Magic Kingdom, loved the feel of the resort - its got to be one of our favorites if we can afford it!!)

stayed at Pop Century and we're going back - its budget friendly food court is large (has slushies!) and the transportation is quick and efficient!!

on the Resort board there is an FAQ of all the resorts

on www.allearsnet.com you can click on resorts and see pictures of all the resorts!
