Best discount disney ever gave you?

Is it just me, or does it seem that Disney is not as "giving" with discounts nowadays?? I'm still holding out for free regular dining plan for beginning of Sept!!!! We're booked right now at AKL with a pin for 35%, but FD would be worth a few hundred more I think...

OK, well this was unusual. We were supposed to be booked for the POR Royal guest room last March and the rooms were not available yet so they were offering free deluxe upgrades. They asked us which resort and we said the Grand Floridian and we got it. We had theme park view and free dining with our original reservation. My parents got upgraded too since our reservations were tied together. So we had TPV at the GF with free dining for about $180/night for 7 nights. Will never see a deal like that again!

Back when I knew nothing about Disney, we booked free dining in September 2006ish. I booked through Southwest Vacations. We were only going for 3 nights and I saw that I could upgrade for just a little more to something called the "Premium Package." Sounded like a good plan. WOW. No 2 swipes for signatures AND 3 TS meals per night of stay- all with apps, desserts and tips included. We were crazy. We did the parks, jet skiing, carriage rides, parasailing, Hoop De Doo, Luau, Cinderella Castle breakfast, Brown Derby, Artist Point and on and on.

My sister said, "If I knew then what I deal I had, I would still be on that vacation."

I remeber when we first moved to FL in 2000 we were able to stay at POP for as low as $40. a night. The next best deal was FD when they were no restrictions besides buying a 1 day ticket which I tranfered to a AP.

Summer 2011. Poly GV CL. $349.00/night. Had a 40% PIN. Oh how I wish that would happen again. The problem is even with a 40% PIN/discount it would still be much higher because the rack rates are higher. It was nice when it happened.:thumbsup2:goodvibes

We had this in the fall 2007 and the fall 2009! amazing!!

In March 2001 we found our first code here.....and paid $49 a night at All Stars Movies...our trip was Oct 2001 and we decided not to cancel our trip and it proved to be the right decision. No crowds and great weather.
I think the room was around $500 for 10 nights. Sure cost a lot more then that now doesn't it??

It is a toss up. Buy 4 get three or the first time they offered free dining. That free dining was great... appetizers, entrees, dessert and it even included the tip!!!

Agree! In 2003 we had 4 for 7 at GF Sugarloaf! Awesome. But the first free dining promotion was great too.

Oh, I forgot about the Monster PIN that was 40% off any resort, but we weren't able to go.

Buy 4 Get 3 Free was the most marvelous discount ever.

Yup! We stayed at the GF for less than we would have spent at POR. Move over snobs, the Clampetts have arrived!!

We got a 45% bounceback on our June 2010 stay for 6 nights in December 2010 at Boardwalk. Also got the buy 4 get 3 free deal in February of 2010 and a 40% summer offer for June.

So, we went 3 times that year!

Pop Century during the old Free Dining ... 2 adults and 1 child with the original DDP (1CS, 1TS w appetizer and gratuity) for under $100 per night with tax.

Second best: $119 for the Polynesian over Christmas. I had POFQ booked on a discount but Disney closed it down post 9/11 and offered me an upgrade to the Poly.

Kids 3-9 stay, play, and dine free.

Yep- this was the best deal that we have received. DH, my mom, our three kiddos and myself plus we stayed ASMo for something like $79 per night. It was so inexpensive and wonderful! I think ours was somehow tied to Visa.

It was the start of the Grainger Convention a few years back. Stayed one night at CSR and then onto the GF. It was my husband, myself, and my DS. At check-in they immediately upgraded us to a Junior Suite. Wow! I didn't even say a word. My DS was so excited--he took pics of his room, his tv, his door, his bathroom, his robe! Best of all, he had his own remote. The kid was in heaven. His dream came true and he didn't even know he had the dream. This was part 1. Priceless!

Next day we went to the GF and they put us into a room next to the elevators. NO go for me. I asked to be transferred as it was still early in the day, and they gave us a dormer room overlooking the main pool. Best was the price of $199 for that room. I was happy with the balcony pool view and we all could hear the train whistle every morning for rope drop. What a memory.

Will always treasure those two in the same vacation!:cheer2::cheer2:

Leaving tonight for one night at the Art of Animation if we can get out with the storm! pixiedust:pixiedust: Can't wait to see this property.

Have a happy vacation everyone!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Free TS dining when rooms at POP were $69 and dining included appetizer and gratuity.

Not a discount but the best Disney 'bonus' was a $150 gift card for signing my name. It was for customer research at the entrance to Animal Kingdom. Told me to show up later in the day for research session. When I arrived they said they had enough people but sign here saying you got your gift card and you can have your gift card anyways.
