Best dinner choice around MK

I just decided to change our ADR for LTT. When we ate there a few years ago, the food was good, but it was also a character dinner so a little more worth the $30 (it probably didn't even cost that back then!) Since we don't eat a ton, I'm not sure I want to spend this if we aren't also getting characters (when I think we could do a nicer meal for less.)

What are your suggestions? Here's the criteria:
-Table service
-Near MK (either in the park or a closeby resort)
-Enjoyable for DS (2yo)
-Not Chef Mickey's or Ohana (we already have ADRs there)
-Not Crystal Palace (DH didn't like the food on last trip)

Some places I was considering:
-1900 Park Fare (not sure if this is still too expensive, buit at least has characters)
-Kona Cafe
-Whispering Canyon
-Garden Grill (not near MK, but I've heard this is a good character meal?)

Which of these would be best or is there something I'm forgetting?

Kona is always a good choice. 1900 Park Fare is also a great choice. I haven't been to Garden Grill, but I have heard great things about it as well. My husband still loves LTT, even without the characters. It is one of his favorites.
Don't forget about CRT as well. We always do a dinner there as well. The location is fabulous. Views from the castle windows are awesome.:)

... is my vote. We have been there and loved it. There is great interaction with the CMs and the food is good. It's not fancy and very laid back so good for the little ones. I seem to remember that they did somethings like have the kids and kids-at-heart ride stick horses around the dining room. I also think they have a good chocolate shake...but not sure if this is correct.
We may need to go back this year now that I think about it :)

My kids and nephew (ages 8, 3 and 3 at the time) looooooooved Whispering Canyon! They still talk about it -- I think it might have been their favorite TS. And we enjoyed exploring WL that evening. I would recommend it!

Whispering Canyon gets my vote! Delicious food, great atmosphere and a lot of fun! The steak melted in my mouth! Cooked to perfection!

Another vote for Whispering Canyon. Fun atmosphere, beautiful resort, good food and you could enjoy the boat ride over there from MK. My boys really enjoyed it!

Garden Grill is in Epcot. We haven't done Kona or 1900 Park Fare. I would pick either one of those, however, over WCC. WCC is on our short list of never to return to--bad service, bad food and very long meal -- 2 hours and we didn't even order dessert (back to the bad service!).

Kona is excellent! Great desserts for the kids!

I'm moving this to Disney Restaurants and Dining.
