Besides dining at the hotel, what are some of your favorite places to eat in vero beach? Anywhere with good outdoor dining on the ocean?

Not Ocean, but on the Indian River, we go Squid Lips in Sebastian, about 12-15 minutes from resort. It’s a very casual place but you are right on or should say over the water. Lots of seafood. Fun place, beautiful views.

I know a lot of folks mention a place down on the ocean in the actual Vero Beach, I forget the name. I think it’s more formal. The resort is actually in Wabasso Beach

We ate at Polo Grill for brunch which is also not on the beach but we had a table on the large porch which is shared by a few other restaurants. The weather was very hot but there was an ocean breeze that made it quite comfortable. The restaurant is in the beach town of Vero Beach which is about 7 miles south of the resort down A1A to Ocean Drive where all the upscale shops and restaurants are. Food was great and there was also a singer who was excellent. They also had indoor seating.

We enjoy Squid Lips for dinner. Food & service have always been good and the view is great. For breakfast/brunch we like Ms. Mac's. No outdoor seating there but great food. Be prepared to wait.

Mentioned above is a restaurant in the main Vero Beach area on the ocean that is about 8 miles from the resort. That would likely be Ocean Grill -- excellent restaurant, good food, right on the ocean. However, it does not have outdoor seating. Instead there is a long line of large windows along the ocean-side of the restaurant providing good views.

Yes, we went to Ocean Grill for dinner when staying at Disney's Vero Beach over Thanksgiving week last year. Really enjoyed it.

On Tuesday we had an excellent dinner at Blackfins, at Captain Hiram’s. Four adults, we sampled appetizers and meals.

Their $11 salad was satisfying to three of us and the mussels were excellent, garlic butter sauce, a potato skin Ruben appetizer excellent, the shrimp and fish ( cod) with fries also excellent, and crab cake was good, not excellent.

We love the outside seating area. Spent about 90 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed it all!
