Ok, so I am actually stressing out about something that most people would kill to have happen to them- my DBF wants to add on 2 MORE days to the beginning of our trip!! I am stressing about taking so much time off of work- even though I NEVER take off otherwise. He is all about having a trip where we spend "double digit nights." We are currently booked for 8 nights at the Poly, so 2 more would make 10. Why am I being such a stress freak?? Oh wait, it's because I already have a PERFECT schedule with AWESOME ADR's planned out. Has anyone booked late Oct ADR's lately? How has the selection been??? Anyone care to convince me to take the extra days? I can't believe I just typed that...I must be the nuttiest person EVER....

A few thoughts for you...

Congrats on getting an extra two days, at the Poly no less :)

I've never visited during October, but my understanding is that except for possibly Christmas week, and possibly during free dining, you can almost always find a reservation somewhere, even usually the day of, if you're a bit flexible with when and where you're going to eat. Given that you've got four months, you should be fine to find some ADRs. (My experience this past April, with a group of 7 no less, was pretty consistent with this... day of was a little hard for last minute changes, day before I could find something as long as I was flexible)

Remember that the ADRs that fill up quickest are those that are the most popular. That doesn't necessarily mean they're the best in terms of food and service quality. Anyone who frequents the boards (or listens to Kevin's reviews on the podcast) has probably heard both good and bad about just about every place.

This may "force" you to try something new and different, which can be a good thing. Maybe you'll find the best ADR times at a place you've never been... that can only enhance the experience. In my opinion, it's worth trying everything at least once.

The two days that you're adding are at the beginning of your trip... so, even if whatever ADRs you get are downright horrible, you still have the remainder of the trip with your "awesome" ADRs to look forward to.

Have a great trip!
