We have the free QSDP for May and was wondering what CS have the yummiest desserts; yeah we love our desserts ;). I know a lot in the parks have those prepacked chocolate/carrot cakes that are rather yucky. We LOVE Starring Rolls in DHS for their amazing cupcakes and was wondering what other CS (resorts, parks) follow along those lines. Now, I don't mean snacks I am talking about the desserts that come with the CS meal. Thanks~

There are lots of places that have different options from the bad cake in a cup.

Earl of Sandwich
The resort food courts
WPE
Contempo Cafe
Captn Cooks
Sunshine Seasons
The bakery in France
The bakery in Norway

That's all I can think of right now.

Some of my favorite desserts are at Epcot. France, Norway, Germany, and Sunshine Seasons. Last trip I decided I'm not a big fan of the big cupcakes-they look so much better than they taste. :confused3

I'm about half way through my QSDP review (with photos) if you are interested in reading. Click on link below.

I agree about the cupcakes. I read so many ppl RAVE about these WONDERFUL cupcakes at Disney and I tried a few and didn't like any of them. The biggest disappointment was the Choc Peanut Butter cupcake that was suppose to be TO DIE FOR... I had one at Disney Quest and it didn't taste like Chocolate or Peanut Butter it was weird and bland.

The only desserts I liked were the Choc dipped Mickey shaped Rice Crispie heads and the Ice Cream Sundaes.

The best dessert/snacks I had that weren't associated with a CS meal were the Churros NOMNOM and the Napoleon in the French Bakery at Epcot. Both are awesome little snack credit desserts.

Brownie Creme Sandwich from the Earl of Sandwich. The peanut butter is my favorite.:thumbsup2

I loved the cheesecakes but I love just about any cheesecake

THe Lotus Blossom has ice cream - my very picky eater ate 3 of them - I thought they were strange but it might be fun to try if you have weriod tastebuds or getting tired of most of the food (bugers we did alot so the boys would eat the fries - we did share alot)

-The apple crisp at Columbia Harbour House, although it's more of a dumpling than a crisp
-Resort food courts...I don't know about the rest but at Pop you can get tye dye cheesecake, ice cream sundaes and milkshakes, and a whole bunch of other delicious non-prepackaged desserts
-Sunshine Seasons has a whole bakery display full things like cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, key lime pie and chocolate cake (delicious bakery style cake not the prepackaged one they serve at many of the cs locations)
-Creme brulee and creme brulee cheesecake at Wolfgang Puck's Express at Downtown Disney

Churro are a fav. with us!
At the CSR they give you like 3 with a scoop of ice cream.

My favorite QS dessert at WDW is actually yogurt. Most places that carry yogrut will allow it as a dessert option. Starlight Ray's comes to mind. Generally speaking, I mostly prefer 'snack' items such as chocolate chip cookes and ice cream bars to satisfy my sweet tooth at WDW.

Picking the yogurt is sort of a way to feed two people with one lunch credit. I also happen to like yogurt. The kind they have at WDW is just okay, but I'd much rather have a yogurt to those chocolate cakes.

If you really want to maximize desserts - consider some place like the France or Norway bakeries as QS options. The entrees are simple and limited, but you get more dessert options.

One place I like for lunch is the Land food court. You can piock from the bakery options. I've also been able to get some fresh fruit for dessert there. Fresh fruit options at WDW can be sort of limited, by my way of thinking (I normally eat berries every day). They sometimes have strawberries or grapes.

Similarly, the food court at CSR has lots of choices: including fresh fruit, pastries, good cake and yogurt.

I too am not a fan of the prepackaged choc. or carrot cake desserts w/ the CS meals. You need to try Sunshine Seasons in Future World in the building that houses Soarin' at Epcot. They have a great variety of options for your CS meal. Then to top things off, they have a wonderful bakery with a lot of options for you to choose from for dessert. Everything I've had there has been wonderful. We've tried turtle cheescake, assorted cakes, pastries, etc. Nothing is prepackaged. Truly, lots of choices and all delicious!

When we eat at the food court at our hotel we get our receipt stamped so that we can come back and get our dessert later(within 45 min. or so). You can get an ice cream sundae, milkshake or big gooey brownie. WPE has excellent creme brulee. I also like the QS in Mexico in Epcot. They have frozen fruit pops that are delish! Usually, at your hotel you can sub a salad or any other side for your dessert, depends on the CM.

I really enjoyed the cappuccino cupcake that I got as a dessert at Pizza Planet in DHS. They are huge, so I cut mine in half before I even started eating so that one of my family members could eat half, but everyone was too full from their own lunch. I ended up giving the other half to a woman who came to my table to inquire how the cupcake was. (I hadn't touched it except on the paper when I cut it.)

In the past, many resorts were flexible in areas like this - and it varies quite a bit at differing resorts. (Pop - in my experience - has always been quite strict.)

I haven't been in 2012, but supposedly, WDW is going to be more strict in 2012. The new brochure seems to be saying no substitutions are allowed. I know details like this have always been related to the individual CM, but the new dining brochure has more detailed wording clarifying the official policy.

On the flip side - supposedly 'lots' of new items have been added to the list of 'snack' items. So maybe it is now easier to pick up a packaged item along the way - like a bag of candy.

Not a fan of those cakes in a cup either - I really do not like those colorful Mickey sprinkles!!!

Of the places we've gone to, we like the selection at Sunshine Seasons at The Land at EPCOT. They have this orange marmalade-type pudding dome-ish thing that's to die for [as you can tell, I don't know what it's called].:confused3
While at EPCOT, you have to try the bakery over in France [Boulangerie Patisserie] - my GOD their creme brulee and Napoleon are ..........:worship: - well, just try them. Also try the chocolate mousse, the apple tart, peach tart, and the chocolate cake. We've been there a few times...:thumbsup2 There is also a ginger cake at Yakitori House in Japan. My wife doesn't like sweets that much but she really loves this cake.

The creme brulee at Wolfgang Puck Express is also very good.

Have fun on your quest!
