Hi everyone,

I am trying to plan a 5 night stay, in a deluxe studio, for the end of August. Right now, a consecutive night stay is only available at Old Key West or Saratoga Springs. Although I would consider a split stay, piecing together a reservation would be difficult given the current availability.

Today, I would like to ask for your help in maximizing my waitlist options. Aside from a Kidani Village standard or savannah view, what would most likely come through?

Thanks!

I would take what is available the end of August booked up really quickly and I haven't seen much movement. AKV have been fully booked for months I don't think a waitlist has much change. I'd book SSR.

Book SSR now. That way you have a guaranteed room. Then pick two resorts you might want to stay at. The easiest way for waitlist to come through is a single night. If you waitlist the first or last night where you want to stay, and stalk...I mean STALK the website for availability....like 4-5 times a day. We needed 2 nights before easter weekend 2 months out. EVERYTHING was full. I checked 4 times a day. Finally something opened at ssr for one night. Kept looking and another opened at AKV. In the end I got OKW as each night opened up. We just wanted the fewest points and OKW was it. Each day I would see maybe 1 room open somewhere, and an hour later it was gone.

It is a very time consuming process, and nothing about is guaranteed, but you give yourself a chance to snag something when it opens up. If you get a day, waitlist the day before or after. Keep checking and maybe you can get the resort you want one night at a time.

Thank you, both, for your responses.

I have been visiting the website several times a day, sometimes hourly, and there has been very little movement.

I reserved a 5-night stay at OKW because it was 5 points less than SSR. Two days ago, I could have booked a lake view studio at BLT for my first, fourth and fifth night, but I hesitated to do so because I was worried about not securing the middle nights. I will continue to check the website and try to pick up nights gradually.

Thanks.

Generally the most movent happens about a month (40-30 days) before checkin (because of the 31day holding points if cancelled rule)

So, yes keep checking!

I would have picked up the last 2 nights, and wailtisted the 3rd night and 2nd night on separate waitlists. If OKW still has availability, you know you can always switch back if you were to get the 2nd night and felt the 3rd won't come through so you are not switching rooms twice.

The waitlist is easiest to fill for single nights. If I were to reserve say August 25th, and you waitlist the 25-26, and someone cancels the 25th, then I get it. You need BOTH nights to be cancelled at the same time. So if you did two separate waitlists for the 25th and 26th, you could get them as each night is canceled by someone. This is why there is a two waitlist limit. Otherwise, someone could get 10 nights all on waitlist by putting each night separately and snagging them one at a time.
