We have a bunch of old Wii and DS games that no one plays any more. I am not going to kid myself and believe I am going to get much out of them, but I would like to know what the best strategy for selling them is, at least while the Wii and DS are stil viable systems.

Are places like Gamestop worth it? I sell a lot on CL, and used to eBay (in the good old days...) so I can go that route. We will likely get more games in the future, though I like to buy used when I can, so credit at GS or similar would be fine.

We are going to keep our "blockbuster" games, like all the Lego games and such, so the "lesser" games are likely worth not very much, I realize.

We save ours and then sell them between Thanksgiving and Christmas on ebay. Still not the best since you have to pay for shipping, and anymore you need to mail it with tracking, but still seems to get more money than Gamestop.

I was surprised how much you don't get for games at Game Stop. Some of ours were older games and they wanted to give me a dollar for them. I wound up donating them to our library and took a tax write off for the donation instead.

I find I get better prices selling stuff myself on Kijijii or Craigslist than taking them to a store.

I also find I buy things (like DS / WII games) for better prices from people selling them, than from a second-hand store!

My son really wanted to trade some of his DS games last week, so we went to Play-N-Trade for the first time. He got between $3-7 in store credit for each game and wound up with about $40 to spend. He was thrilled. I know it's not much, but it was easy and he was able to walk out with a couple of new-to-him games and a brand-new DS case.
