Anyone willing to share their good deals and how they found them? We stayed an EI 3 bedroom last June for $500/week.

We're staying in a 3 bedroom at WH for 2 weeks in August, 2011 for $768 total. Definitely looking forward to spreading out and having a relaxing vacation :thumbsup2!

If you can go off-season, you can use SkyAuction.com.

When they have their blowout weeks you can get them for $149-$199 for the entire week.

I just used a $149 (including tax) for a 7 night stay at a 2 bedroom condo last week.

We can't pull out kids out of school anymore either, so this is perfect for us. Luckily, Chicago Public Schools go back the Tuesday after Labor Day which gives us a chance to end our summer with a trip to WDW and US/IOA!

Maybe its going June vs. August, but I am getting around $700-$800/week, even for a 2 bedroom.:guilty:

We got a 4 bedroom 3 bath house in Windsor Palms with a private pool in the backyard for $1050 for 7 nights. We split it with my sister and her young girls, and had PLENTY of room. It cost us just $500. LOTS more money to spend in the parks. :)

We rented a 2 bedroom condo I found on vrbo.com for $69/night. I couldn't even find a hotel cheaper than that!

Don't just look at price. Look at location, too. Some condos are farther away from Disney and maybe not as nice so they cost less.

We stayed at WH (Windsor Hills) a couple of years ago for 10 days over Memorial weekend and into the first few days of June for $85 per night for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with washer and dryer which was less than the rate the owner posted on her website. Owners are willing to make deals rather than have a place sit empty. The longer your stay, the better deal you can negotiate.

Windsor Hills is a fairly large property, so it might also matter how close you are to the clubhouse/pool.

This is the condo we stayed in:

It was a little further from the clubhouse, but that's all that was available at the time. It had a playstation with some games, flatscreen TVs in all of the bedrooms, and free wi-fi. We loved Windsor Hills. It took us 5 min. from the time we got in the car to the time we were in the parking lot at Disney. The pool is a bit nicer than some of the other condos we considered because it has a big slide. The clubhouse also had a movie theater that showed movies daily, and a store where you could buy things in a pinch.

Yep, that's probably what the difference is. Fortunately for us, the last two weeks of August are our preferred time because it's the perfect ending to our summer.

I agree that location is important. Emerald Island is really close too. If we don't find anything cheaper in the same vicinity, we will be returning to the condo we rented last summer. $500 isn't bad for a 3 bedroom that close to Disney property.

If you have an iPod or iPhone check out the app airbnb I just booked a hotel for 29 a night it's the one right on top, it's usually 60 a night we are only going for a weekend

I also booked a 2 bdrm condo for 79 a night at Windsor hills for May.

Can someone explain skyauction.com to me? I understand the bidding part but how do I know that my dates will be honored or available after I bid?

Thanks so much.

Michelle

Last year we stayed in a 4br 3ba house with pool in High Grove for 8 nights for a total of $589! We loved the house so much we stayed again this year and I referred a friend who stayed there also. We now get 15% off every time we stay in a house that the company we rented from manages.

About 3 years ago, I got a 2BR/2BA condo at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas for $300 total for the week leading up to Christmas (off ebay).

Two years ago, I had a 2BR/2BA condo at Bonnet Creek for $90 a night total from Christmas Day to New Year's Eve. I loved it there!

I've also had a house down on Hwy.27 (a couple of miles north of I-4) for $480 for the week (4BR/3BA, screened pool, gated - off vrbo.com).

Right now, I'm in a house at Sunset Lakes (found on ebay). I don't consider it one of my best bargains, I paid $100 a night total for a 5BR/4BA (screened pool, gated community, decorated for Christmas :)).

I had a little more trouble this year than usual, but I had some specific needs that made it harder. My son-in-law really wanted to fish, and we were only going to have one car so I needed a place that he could fish if we were gone to theme parks, etc. This house is backed up to a stocked lake, and he can fish from the backyard. :thumbsup2

We stayed in a 2 bedroom at the Sheraton Vistana Villages in Oct 07 for $535 for the week. We got the deal through my parents. They own an Interval timeshare. Interval offers them "getaways" which are discounted rates on condos. We also got a 1 bedroom for $325 for the same week for DH's brother.
