We are just going for one day (in late Sept), family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). Not FL residents. What would be the best deal for us on SW tix? We do have AAA...not sure if they offer discounted tix or not.

Even though we have season passes and can get discounted tickets for others I have my family buy the tickets where adults get in at the kid price. It saves a couple bucks over what our discount for them would be.
I'm not sure how long the online promotion will last, but select cans of Pepsi also have an "adult at child's price" offer that is valid until 12/31/09. All you need to do is bring the can with you. There is a limit of 6 cans per group.
The SWA 20% discount is 20% off the regular rack rate. I don't have my receipt with me, but I think the regular adult price is like $74.95?(per website), so with 20% it was $59.96 for an adult. Kids reg price is $64.95 so with SWA 20% off, it was $51.96. Plus you get a 2nd day pass for free.

with the southwest discount, do you just show your rapid rewards card at the parks and then purchase them there to get the best deal? Last year I found a code for 30% off, but think I will go with the southwest deal this year.

Yep - just show your card at the ticket gate & you'll get 20% off the general admission. I tried to find a deal for purchasing tickets on-line, but couldn't find one quite as good as the 20% off deal.
I couldn't find the official info. on-line either, but it worked just fine. I just presented the paper SW rapid rewards card I had printed from the internet.
The cost was $59.96 + tax (6.5%) per ticket. For our family of 4 it cost a grand total of $255.44.
Just another confirmation that yes, the SW discount still works at the gate. We bought the one-day tickets for four adults and 1 child and paid $291.80 plus tax, which was a big savings over the child price for everyone. Getting a second day free made it an even better value.
Dunno about the deal being offered on tix other than their 1-day. It would be worth calling either them or SW if no one here has done it.
