Looking for a new car seat for my 3 year old and am interested in a Britax Marathon, Diplomat, or Frontier.

Any sites (codes) or links you can recommend???

Thanks for your help!

Shannon

I saw a bunch at Target a few days ago marked 30% off. I think they were $210? Something like that.

Sorry for the double post, but Traveling Tikes has several Marathons in different patterns for $199.99. Good luck! You really can't go wrong with a Britax. :)

I bought a Britax Frontier for my daughter in May. She loves it and she was one who would always scream in the car seat. We got it from buybuybaby.com for $229 and free shipping.

I wouldn't spend the money to get a Marathon or a Diplomat for a 3 yo unless you have a younger child it will be passed down to in a couple of years. Those are both convertibles, so you're paying for features you'll never use for a 3 yo. (Unless, of course, she weighs less than 35lbs and you plan to rear-face her!)

I would look at the Frontier, or at a Graco Nautilus.

I don't see any major deals on Britax right now. They will have another sale I think in September. The best price right now is $229 with free shipping (Amazon has that price also) but you might be able to get a little more off if you go through a cash back program like Ebates and buy from a participating store. If you want to consider the Nautilus, that is much less expensive. $143.98 at Walmart right now. The girly 'Daisy' print at Walmart is $159.98.

Look at the Regent as well. i bought it last fall when Allie was 3 and she has a ton of room. It's one of the few that has internal 5 point harness as a booster... I paid a lot for it, but it's the last seat we'll ever have to buy and I think the internal 5 point is safer

Just to clarify; the Regent does not convert to a booster. It is strictly a forward facing harnessed seat. (And it's a good option for the op, however, it has been discontinued. They are not making them anymore so if you're interested in one you need to look at purchasing ASAP.) The Frontier and the Graco Nautilus are both combination forward facing harnessing seats AND boosters.

Right. It's booster sized though. My 7 year old fits in it :-) It's the best seat we've ever had

I'll second Albee Baby as a place to check for specials on Britax. Also just got an Amazon email notice on a Britax Marathon in the Bridgeport fabric $60 off for $219.

I've got a Britax Regent I'm trying to sale. I purchased it in '07 and it's in really good shape. It was an excellent seat. We just needed something smaller for our new car. The Regent will hold kids 22-80 pounds. Anyway, the point of my post is to ask you who know if $100 is a reasonable price for me to be asking for this seat. My husband's going to try to sell it at work.

That's about the going "used" rate for a Britax in my area...

I have a 6-yo in a Graco Nautilus....you should at least check it out before you buy. :thumbsup2

We just went through the car seat purchase dilemma. DS2 was about to outgrow his Roundabout so we purchased a Britax Marathon at Target on clearance for $195. After realizing he would only get at the most another year out of the seat we returned it and got the Graco Nautilus which was also on clearance at Target for $145. Brought that home and sat DS in it and realized he was not going to fit in that one comfortably for long - it is just so narrow!

DS2 is built like DH (think football player build) and is tall with broad shoulders. We returned the Nautilus and ordered the Regent for $189.99 from Amazon and got free shipping. It arrived today and WE LOVE IT!

I had also checked into a local baby boutique that is an authorized Britax dealer and they have a sale on them this week for $50 off the Frontier. If you go to www.britax.com and type in your zipcode you can find the closest authorized dealer near you. Call them and see if they are having the current Britax authorized sale. The Frontier is $279 full price but is on sale for $229 this week.

Try selling it on Craigslist or on ebay with local pickup. That sounds like a reasonable price to me.

I am going to wash the cover on our Roundabout and sell it. One of my friends sold hers on ebay for $150! :thumbsup2

I have my 3 y.o in a Britax Frontier and am very happy with it. I think I got it from BabyUniverse last Sept. when Britax does their semi-annual sale.
Here's a site that has great car seat reviews and coupon codes. http://www.car-seat.org/

Thanks for the input about the selling price for my Britax. I had not even thought of Craigslist. Thanks for that idea.

I love Craigslist. I've sold several larger pieces of baby equipment on there. No shipping and cash instantly! :thumbsup2
