Best deal for Vegas strip

Anyone know the best place to get a great deal on air and hotel for a trip to Vegas? We have never been and want to go but I dont know if I should go to the websites of the casinos for deals or go to something like expedia, etc. Any ideas?

check out www.cheapovegas.com deal wise I have signed up at the Hotel websites & I get great deals with emails. I prefer Mid Strip & we really like Flamingo.

We go once a year. We always book air and hotel separately. We always book room directly with the hotel. Smarter Vegas usually has the best discount codes. You take the code and go to the hotel's website to book. Make sure it is a fully refundable deal and keep checking back to see if rates go lower. I think I rebooked the Mirage 3 times last summer. I love hunting for travel deals!!!

Always book individually - and directly with the provider. If you need to change anything, it's easier. Plus, you can usually get better prices. Many hotels in general, and even in Las Vegas, will price match if you find a lower price online and the price meets their conditions (eg) not on a 'blind' site like hotwire).

Bally's, Harrah's, and Flamingo aren't fancy - but they're solid, they're center-Strip, and they're reasonably price.

book seperately and direct from Casinos. Try to stay at a Harrah's owned property as they do not charge a resort fee. Cheap ones are Flamingo and Bally's both are old and kinda basic but usually clean and have a good location. I have free player cards to the casinos and they send me emails with special deals.

sample rates-
During mid week in the non hot months you should be able to get a room for between 20-50 a night, on the weekend in non hot months anywhere from 75-200 (depending on the casino)

Also check casino sites for promos sometimes they have packages where you get free buffets, gambling money, dinners, pool passes or drinks with your room

I agree, but also because if you don't book the hotel directly with the hotel itself you won't be able to be comped any of it. You can get other comps like meals, etc., but they won't be able to do anything about your room.

We stayed last at TI, but also loved Mirage. If you sign up on everyone's websites you'll start getting offers.

as others have said, get on the hotel's email list and save by planning a sunday-thursday stay.

you can often look on the hotel's website to see an availability calendar. this will give you an idea of the cheaper times to travel (lower demand).

Great example of this: I have an e-mail from New York New York for a special package they're offering. Looking at the calender, March 27-April 1 (check in Sunday/out Friday) averages $73 per night. The week before, March 20-24, averages $197 per night ! Just for fun, I checked the last month the offer is valid - October. I could book the same promotion, again Sunday-Thursday, the first full week of the month, for an average of $50.40 per night.

Mid March is St. Paddy's Day followed by the opening weekend of March Madness. One of the busiest times in Vegas. Love going that time of year with friends tho.

We went a few months ago, and I signed up for all of the available newsletters and with the hotel itself (NYNY is where we wanted to stay). We priced the individual pieces as well as packages. The best deal ended up being a package through Southwest Vacations. Saved a couple hundred dollars over the best discounts available. Even better was that we went during restaurant week, so got some fabulous deals on meals while we were there.

I booked our room at The Cosmopolitian thru AAA and booked our flights seperate directly thru the airline.

If you have AAA there were really good deals on rooms.

I personally like the Flamingo. It's kind of dated, but it is ideal to sleep and shower. I am leaving tomorrow for the Flamingo with the Buffet of Buffet packages for three nights for right at $200.

Do you gamble? If so definitely get a casino rewards card. My SIL does this and she's always getting free rooms and free airfare. She goes to Vegas 3 or 4 times a year for free.

We like to book a package just because it's easy. We knew we were going and wouldn't cancel, so it worked out. Also, the price on our resort website (Caesars Palace-- highly recommended, gorgeous hotel, perfect mid-strip location) matched the package deal. We booked through our airline-- Virgin America. August was a great time to go-- super dead and cheap rates were available. Going Sunday-Thursday is much cheaper than going over a weekend.

We are going March 2-8th, over Nascar weekend and i did the hotel sign ups, all the websites etc etc. Even tried my luck at priceline and watched hotwire like a stalker and ended up booking thru Expedia as with our airfare and the hotel we saved $700 together and the hotel was almost half the price of all the other locations and i was happy with that for a 5* and a busy time in Vegas. I do keep checking and happy to say the price just keeps going up and up............
