Hi Gang

We're going down to WDW in October (through work for me) and staying at the Swan from Oct 9 - 13. I'll be travelling with my wife, 4 year old son and 9 month old daugher.

I'd like to stay a few extra days while we're there on our money. However, given that it sucks to be Canadian when traveling to WDW, what is the best way to get a good deal at a Deluxe resort? When I look at the prices I'm ok but when I convert that to Canadian, I just about collapse.

Any advice??

Andy

I know what you mean. We were lucky enough in April to get Cdn at par and for Oct we have the 7 for 5 booked through AAA. I'm still hoping that they may come up with anoher Cdn at Par deal for our stay in October and I will get our TA to check the rates!

You should think what the equivalent hotel would cost elsewhere.

I just returned from New York City and paid $344 U.S per night for very mediocre. It made me think of what I could get at WDW for nearly the same $$$ and there was no comparison.

Another thing we have to learn to stop doing is converting into Canadian dollars. Things don't cost the same in other major citys and tourist attractions as they do here. The trip will be much more enjoyable if we don't do it.

I have decided after all, you get a lot of bang for your buck, U.S or otherwise at Disney!;)

We just got back from the east coast and prices are high there for accomadation and food. Watch for mousesavers to put out good rates later.
