Best Day Of Week to Visit Discovery Cove

Just wondering if anyone could suggest the best day of the week to visit Discovery Cove? We'll be heading to Orlando the first two weeks of December and plan to do the dolphin swim and possibly the underwater Sea Venture.

Discovery Cove only allows a maximum number of guests per day (1300), so you never have to worry about it being crowded regardless of what day you pick.

With that in mind, we have always selected our DC visit days based on when we thought the other theme parks would be busiest, knowing a day at DC would guarantee us no crowds on an otherwise crowded day at Disney, SW or Universal.

So I would say check the crowd calendars for the other parks of your visit, and pick DC for one of the dates that is projected to be the busiest.

Early in your vacation week. That way if you have bad weather you can change to another day. // We made the mistake of scheduling it for the last day of our vacation, and it's really not much fun if your day is cold, miserable, and rainy. Bummer -- we had five beautiful and just our last day, our Discovery Cove day, had bad weather.

Definitely go on a Monday or Friday (since they're not open Tues.-Thurs. those first two weeks). We were married there on Monday, December 10th last year and we felt like we (and our 30 guests) were the only ones in the park. We went back during our honeymoon on that Saturday, December 15th and it was much more crowded (not unmanageable, just a very noticeable difference). We did SeaVenture on our second day and really enjoyed it (we only paid $39 for it though since we have platinum passes, I'm not sure if it's worth the full price).

We went for the first time on Dec. 12th in 2011 and it was 60 degrees and raining. We spent pretty much the whole day in the heated lazy river, but we had a wonderful time.

We're going back for our anniversary on 12/9 this year (since they're not open on our actual anniversary)!
