Hi we will be coming from Australia to see Disneyland during the Christmas season. We are a family of 4 with teenagers. It is impossible for us to arrive before the 26th of Dec. We have Christmas at our place with extended family and due to school exams cannot leave before this date. My question is are all of the decorations still in place and most of the Christmas activities still occurring between the 27th Dec and the 2nd of Jan or do they start taking them down a little each day after Christmas ? I was thinking of staying off site from the 27th till the 30th and then moving to a Disney property. This is not our first trip to Disneyland and I am aware that it will be extremely busy. The problem is I am a bit of a Christmas nut as my family call me and would love to do this. Thanks for all your help.

The last few years Christmas has gone through January 6th. If you wanted to try to avoid some crowds and arrive on the 2nd then they should still be up.

We were there January 3, 2014 and the decorations, parades and even Santa were still there! We found stuff started coming down after the 6th, with the exception of IASW which stays until mid-end of January. The HM will still be in Nightmare before Xmas, but some down soon after the 6th to go back to the original. Disney in Christmas mode is beyond what you can imagine!! :cloud9: I am, like you a self professed Christmas nut and I stood in the middle of main street and cried tears of happiness!

I believe things begin to come down the first Monday of the new year.

I would also guess that the "holiday season" is going to last at least through January 6, 2016. For the last several year's, DLR has done a "Three Kings Day" celebration over in DCA. So, I would guess that the official "holiday season" will run at least through the formal end to the Three Kings Day Celebration (on January 6, 2016). Also, the SoCal/SoCal Select AP holiday blockout period ends on January 4, 2016 and they generally have a few days to go see the holiday decor and shows one more time after the blockout ends. As others have said, almost everything will still be on the holiday mode. The only thing that ends with Christmas is the majority of the meet and greets with Santa. He will appear at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree in his "after Christmas attired", but I believe the other meet and greets end (based on reports from last year).
