Im partial to HAL ;) but thats been my only experience. I would ove to hear what others feel the best cruiseline is and why?

Of course!
Best family programs
Best staff
Best "adults only" areas (and best at enforcing them!)
Best private island
Where else can you cruise with Mickey & crew?!

I've only had one cruise. It was the Disney Cruise Line 7 day western caribbean. I loved it!!!!

I really should try each one of those other cruise lines just to be fair, now that I think about it. Great idea, I'm thinking. I mean, I should be fair, right?

All of them! ;)

Seriously: I'm a cruise-addict and have sailed Carnival, RCI, NCL, Premier (now defunct), Celebrity, Disney and Princess.

They each have their strengths & weaknesses depending on one's preferences.

But even my one "cruise from hell" was better than stayin' home!

Denise < --- a Princess fan at the moment, but just because I enjoyed PC dining and how well they handled our cruise during 9/11.

I enjoyed my 4night Norwegian Western Cruise Dec 01.
Ive been trying to get on DCL.

I've only been on Disney and frankly, I don't care to try anyone else. I find it hard to believe another cruise line could measure up to having the Mouse on board!!

We love Royal Caribbean and look forward to sailing again in November. We would love to go on Disney, but it is just too expensive for us now. We could have a really nice suite on RCCL compared to an outside or balcony cabin on Disney. Plus we would have to factor in transfers being more for Disney since Port Canaveral is further from the airport compared to Miami's port. I really hope to have enough saved for Disney one day but right now we just can't~~I'm jealous of those who can! :p

Having done DCL, Princess, and HAL, I'd have to say HAL has the best idea of what real cruising is supposed to be. DCL is best if you have kids, and Princess is just good all around but not necessarily outstanding anywhere

I've been on a number of cruises over the past 20+ years and nobody does it like Disney. We have our 5th Disney cruised planned for this May on the 7 day Western. Would love to do Alaska in a few years and if Disney isn't doing it yet might go with HAL as I've heard good things about them.

I've only cruised with DCL and I feel like it's time for a change. So this fall we're doing a 10 day on HAL. But I really think I could be happy on any cruiseline. For me it's just about being at sea.

We've taken two Disney cruises and have a third booked for next January. We also took a Carnival cruise and although we enjoyed it very much, we like Disney better. We love how they separate adults from kids, Carnival didn't do that. We do want to try other lines eventually though, like Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, etc. We hope to cruise to Hawaii and Alaska within the next few years.

We have liked every cruise we've ever taken. Royal Caribbean, NCL, Big Red Boat and Carnival all have their good points.

I refuse to go on DCL because they force families of 5 to get a suite or 2 rooms. Even Carnival has regular rooms for 5 people.

Jill, DCL has regular rooms for families of five....they're called Category 4 Deluxe Family Staterooms with Verandahs. They have a whole deck of them. They're not suites, just slightly larger rooms. In fact they have MORE rooms that sleep five than any other cruise line. :)

I loved Celebrity. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Have also cruised with HAL and Carnival. Enjoyed both quite a bit....but each has a distinctive flavor and a slightly different clientale.

Thanks Michelle--I'll have to check into it more closely. :D

I've sailed RCI 6 times (have a 7th cruised booked for April:Pinkbounc ) and Celebrity once. Guess you could say I prefer RCI;)

I've only been on one but we loved it - Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas. It was amazing.

Question - adults only or with kids?

The Big Red Boats, all 3, when they were the "official" cruise line of Walt Disney World and after they joined up with Warner Brothers. They had the best food and dining room service of any ships I have been on, and when they were Disney associated, I got to see Mickay, a lot.

Carnival, Ectasy and Fantasy, both were short cruises, good food, lots of party time. Great for younger than me people.

American Hawaii, Constitution, she has since sunk, but it was a great tour of the islands.

Royal Carribean, Soveriegn of the Seas, best upgrade I ever got, top of the ship room for less than a grand for 2 of us. All we did was drink, relax, and drink. No activities.

Holland America, Ryndam to Alaska, different from the east coast cruises, beautiful ship, great service, food was good, but not gormet. Great tours, after we docked we spent 3 days seeing Alaska (Hi Binny!) HAL does Alaska right.

Disney, Wonder. Flame me now, but this was the worst cruise I have ever been on. Our dining room service was next to non existant, the food is very institutional. I just didn't come away from it saying I can't wait to come back. I liked the Hercules show, but not Disney Dreams. The ship herself is extrodiarily beautiful, and the private island is the very best I have been to, too bad all the cruise lines don't skip Nassau and go to Cast Away Cay. At least Disney could do that. I say cruise over there and stay for the 2 days!

I am going on Carnival again in December, on Conquest. I hope it's a good Christmas gift to me!
