I am looking to get a new credit card that will allow me to earn rewards I can use towards Disney. Anyone have suggestions for a good card? I plan on paying off the balance each month, so I don't have to worry too much about the interest rate, but I would like to avoid a yearly fee. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

I don't know of any with specific Disney related rewards. Any one else? Your best bet may be one of the cash back cards. I know Discover has one, but I think there are others with slightly higher rewards depending on your charging patterns. Amex (an Optima cash back card I believe) and several banks had cards with a cash back feature last time I had checked, and for my charging levels would have a higher return. You can do an internet search for 'credit cards cash back' and see what is available now. Then just compare the various percentages on the amounts charged that each returns and find which will give you the most for what you charge annually. Check several sites as none seemed to have them all despite their claims. You can even check Amex and other financial institution sites directly and search on their sites for a cash back card offering. Good luck!

Discover has a really low percentage for their cash back, and now you can't redeem it until you have at least $20. I know there are some cards that give back 1% cash, and Disney will have its own reward card out next year.

If you can wait until Jan., 2003, Disney is supposed to be offering a rewards-based Visa card. Details are not available right now but the company spin doctors are saying that its benefits will replace the ones that were offer through the DC and it will have Disney-related rewards.

If you cannot wait that long, consider applying for the Chase-i Card through one of the rewards programs that uses MetaRewards (like CreationsRewards, LiftaGift, ClicktotheMagic). By applying for and being approved, you can grab a considerable number of points (somewhere in the range of 1,300 at CTTM). The card has no annual fee and since you plan to pay off the balance every month, the APR should not be of great concern to you. This card pays in Webcertificates every month. You get the equivalent of a 1% rebate this way.

Chase i-card is my card of choice right now. They send you an email with the webbie in it approximately 3 days after your statement closes. Very prompt. Each time you accumulate $1000 in spending total ($10 webbie) they send it out automatically. So you will get $14, $32, etc webbies - whatever it works out to.

Online payment available which is great.

They are pretty heavy on telemarketing but I can survive that. I just didn't realize it at first.

Note: We applied for ours through memolink and earned 4000 points at the time. Since this was a new memolink redemption we received our WalMart card in about 6 weeks when I requested redemption.

I just picked up the Chase Stockback card. You can either reinvest the money or have them send you a check. You get more money back depending on whre you shop. Disney store (on-line) purchases get you 4% back.

Thanks, everyone......The Chase i-Card was one that I looked at....I like the fact that is pays out in Webbies. I'll have to see what the Disney Visa rewards looks like too....is there any information on it yet?

Thanks!

I searched high and low for a good credit card to get some discounts for Disney. I heard about the Disney card coming out next year but I needed one sooner than that, especially for the Christmas spendathon!!! The Marriott Card (through First USA) lets you earn points to stay at a Marriott (such as the Royal Palms vacation club or the Orlando World Center) or earn PARK HOPPER PASSES!!! That's what caught my eye. You earn 10,000 points just for using the card the first time. I also transferred my American Express points over to the Marriott card as well (but only at a rate of 1 point for every 2 American Express points). Check it out....I think it's the best card out there currently for us Disney lovers!!!
Cheers-
