I am changing my ADRs around a little and have one more dinner to try and book. My mom is coming on this trip with me and she LOVES crabcakes. So...where is the best place in the World to get crabcakes?
TIA!

Well--if the Maryland style jumbo lump, backfin, delicately seasoned crabcake is what you're after--the answer is nowhere!
I've had a couple of crabcake appetizers at Flying Fish and Citricos--both were tasty-sweet, but as entrees they would fail miserably. Ordered crabcakes as an entree just once--at Fultons. Pretty sad.

Yup, she is picky about her crabcakes. That is why I am asking! Mom has always lives by the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf , so she knows good, fresh seafood. I was just hoping that there might be something there for her! No sense , IMO , of going to a seafood restaurant, if you are going to order meat!

The Kona Cafe has a crabcake appetizer that I think is one of the best I've had. Can't go wrong at Kona.

I had the crabcakes as an entree at the Coral Reef last week, and I don't know a lot about great crabcakes, all I can tell you was that it really tasted "fishy" and was so spicy, I had major heartburn!

Had them as appetizers at both Turf Club and GF Cafe this past weekend. Presentation at Turf Club was nice, but taste was average. You get 3 dipping sauces. The mango clashes terribly with the crab. They were much better at GF Cafe. In fact, GF Cafe was a pleasant surprise.

I had the crab cakes at GF Cafe and Wolfgang Puck. Both were good, but I liked the ones at GF Cafe better. They were just a little tastier.

The crab cake appitizer at Capt Jacks last year were really good...I liked theirs better than Olivias.

If you're going to be there during the F&WF, the crabcakes in the American pavilion are faaaaaaabulous. I'm extremely picky, too -- so forget the ADR's and just swing by Epcot for yummy crabcakes.

I often order crabcakes for my appetizers, and, believe it or not, the best crab cake I've ever had was at the Liberty Tree Tavern in MK! It beat out Coral Reef, Capt' Jack's, and some other place that I can't remember at the moment! LOL!

The best crabcakes, according to my DH, are at G & M's restaurant in Linthicum, MD! (I don't like crabcakes).

While Kona's are tasty they are nowhere near as good as a Maryland crabcake. They do too much to them and a great crabcake doesn't need much of anything. We get them all the time at Kona's but we know not to expect them to taste like a crabcake but more like a seafood cake!

G&Ms has a large fire there last month but reopened very quickly. They have huge crabcakes that many like. I think if quantity if what you are after then go to G&Ms. If you want quality then you need to go to Jimmy Cantlers.

If you live in a place where they have gold standard examples of a dish, don't go looking for something that competes with it at WDW. For instance: "I'm from Chicago, where can I get good pizza?". WDW food can be very good, but little of it competes with the ultimate versions found in their natural habitat. Besides, you're on vacation, try something new :) :earsboy:

I will second that one..BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! :thumbsup2

If you don't want much done to them, then Flying Fish is some of the best. Mind you it is an appetizer portion, but the meat speaks for itself.

I agree - my son and I ordered it last trip. Very good! In fact our entire meal at LTT was excellent. :thumbsup2

My husband orders crabcakes often and he seemed to like the crabcakes the most at Yacht Club Galley.
