Best Crabcakes - VERY IMPORTANT!!

OK, so maybe it's not really that important . But I'm a bit of a crabcake junkie. I think I need some sort of 12 step program .

We've made our ADRs, and according to the menus on allears, these are the restaurants we'll be eating at that serve crab cakes:

Kona
Narcoosees
Fulton's

Which 1 would you suggest for crab cakes. I'm trying to limit myself to 1 serving on our next vacation.

Check and see if they still have them on the lunch menu at Liberty Tree Tavern, they are fantastic!

I had a crabcake appetizer at the Brown Derby that was very good. It wasn't too heavy or bread-filled. I followed that with the tuna entree (rare). Yum.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only crabcake junkie. I'll have to try some on our next trip and compare them to my favorite place on the Northern CA coast (Little River Inn).

Definitely not the only one. Actually, my DF makes fun of me because I almost always order 1 of 2 things when we go out. Crabcakes, or lobster ravioli. I'm trying to exhibit some sort of self control, and change it up.

I have had them at Kona and at Narcossees. They are very lightly "breaded/battered" and pan fried so they don't seem like an overly heavy thing to eat. (ok, I know I am justifying my indulgence, lol) Either place is good, though of course Narcossees is a more fine dining experience than Kona, which is pretty casual. Choose whichever one you like for the ambience and the other foods, etc, the crabcakes are good either place.

I do not care for the ones at LTT. I hated the ones served at Coral Reef. I thought Boatwright's were pretty good. I had them other places but just can't remember...too many meals--starting to blur a bit...

Alas--none of those spots serve REAL crabcakes-which of course are Md. style with all jumbo-lump crabmeat, a touch of Old Bay, and just enough breading to hold it all together. And broiled, never fried.
The ones at Disney are "tasty-sweet", probably better as appetizers than entrees.

My son had them a couple of summers ago at the Rainforest Cafe outside of AK. He said they were great, light on breading and lots of crab lumps.

UncleRom: I agree about Maryland crabs, as an old Phillip's Crab House girl (tho now they import their crab from Thailand for goodness' sakes!)

BAck to OP:
I'm on the Disney Dining Plan this trip, so I'm certainly going to find out about crab cakes at Disney. thinking that Wolfgang Puck's also has crab cakes and that is my first stop.

BTW: I found the best crab cakes in the world in a little hole in the wall restaurant in landlocked Breckenridge, Colorado. Go figure. I tried to get the recipe, but it was very secret. They also had two for ones, which meant I had an order of the best cc apps in the world for about $4.50...thought I died and went to heaven. Alas, the restaurant was bought out and I have no idea where that chef went, but I would have married him, just for that recipe alone!
