Hi pb, I'm from the Shenandoah Valley...but I get over to Northern VA every now and then. Next time I'm in the area, I'll have to look up the Carlyle Grand Cafe!
And laurabelle...I agree those Crab Cakes look scrumptious. Looks like most agree that Marylanders have the best crab cakes in the world....

Docsknotinn said:We just returned from our trip and we did try the crab cakes at the flying fish. They were not bad in any way but I did not like them. If you are a traditional crab cake person then skip the Peeky Toe crab cakes at the Flying fish. They are breaded in panko bread crumbs which taste a lot like unsweetened cocount and they are deep fried. Again they are not bad but they are eclectic and not at all traditional. Sometimes simplicity is the best ingedient to a great dish.
