Best Crab Cakes in the World

Another vote for G&M, nothing compares to Md crabs. I would never get a crab cake outside of Maryland! Nancy

Jim Jgalecpa is being too modest( very unlike hime) but we stayed with him and his wife in OC last summer and he cooks a mean crab and Rieann makes a lovely dip!

I love crab everything... But lobster....yummm! I could easily live on that too.

Edited to Add: Stuffed (with crab of course!) Lobster Tail would be my choice for a last meal...

I'm with you, when we go to WDW I eat lobster everytime it's on the menu. Those crabcakes look incredible, maybe you could forward it to a couple of WDW restaurants as a gentle hint

Not a Marylander but my Dad was and I agree with those from Maryland that the best crabcakes are found in Maryland. Btw my Dad's family was from Crisfield.

I don't know what part of VA you are from, but they are THE best (and the Lobster Potstickers and Chocolate Flourless waffle w/ Macadamia Ice Cream aren't bad either!)

Hi pb, I'm from the Shenandoah Valley...but I get over to Northern VA every now and then. Next time I'm in the area, I'll have to look up the Carlyle Grand Cafe!

And laurabelle...I agree those Crab Cakes look scrumptious. Looks like most agree that Marylanders have the best crab cakes in the world....

Piglet54....yes..you'll have to! Carlyle Grand Cafe has a website or the company does. They also own best buns bakery and sweetwater's and silverado and Mike's Bar & Grill in Springfield. You can view the menus for all the places on there as well. Google Carlyle Grand Cafe and it'll come up somewhere. The crab cakes there aren't like your traditional MD crab cakes, but are really awesome in a different way. They give you 2 and there's VERY little breading..a few crumbs on the top and bottom (so they can flip them, I guess) and no filler. The serve them with a mildly spicy remulode (sp?) sauce. We drive the hour up there once in awhile for them. The lobster potstickers are to die for too! They are thin pockets of pasta (very thin) think pierogies, but smaller, filled with lobster meat and they sit in a bath of lobster bisque. Ok..I think I might have to go up there soon! Check out the menu!

Really?! Now, I LOVE Fulton's, but my MIL and DH got the Dungeoness Crab cakes last year and they were so chewy it was disgusting. Everything else was delicious though!

We just returned from our trip and we did try the crab cakes at the flying fish. They were not bad in any way but I did not like them. If you are a traditional crab cake person then skip the Peeky Toe crab cakes at the Flying fish. They are breaded in panko bread crumbs which taste a lot like unsweetened cocount and they are deep fried. Again they are not bad but they are eclectic and not at all traditional. Sometimes simplicity is the best ingedient to a great dish.

Right here in MD...I voted other.

I'd have to agree as well. I voted 'other' simply because there are not others better than my dad's.
I grew up in Md. and everywhere else I've tried them they just don't compare! I've given up trying them and beg my dad to make them every time I visit!

I think that is so true, with seafood in particular. I guess I'll be canceling my FF PS. I really wanted to try the Peeky Toe's. Is there no where in WDW to have crab cakes?
