We decided to take a last min. trip to Disney world the beginning of dec. It's just a short weekend trip and we were able to get a discounted quick service dinning plan to maximize our park time. We will have hopper passes. Can anyone recommend some really good counter services places? We want to be able to sit for a few minutes and enjoy a meal especially since we have a special needs 5 y.o. dd and a an infant (she'll be 4 months when we go). I've been looking over some different menus from other sites but thought you guys would be the best to ask! We usually have the regular dinning plan so all quick services is a little different for us. Thanks for any help!!

MK - Columbia Harbor House, Pecos Bills
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons, Tangierine Cafe, Yorkshire County Fish Shop
AK - Flame Tree BBQ
Studios - ...walk or boat to the Epcot resorts (Beaches and Cream, the Fountain, etc) or to World Showcase.
DTD - Earle of a Sandwich

These are generally the ones I would have said. I agree with all down to HS - don't think Beaches is a CS. I find Pizza Planet passable - salad is decent. Staring Roles looked good, but my kids overrulled me and we went back to PP.

We also find the CS in China to be excellent and have hit that each of the last 2 years.

Here's what I liked:
MK - Peco's Bills, Colombia Harbor House, Main Street Bakery
DHS - Starring Rolls
EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion, Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, Liberty Inn but mostly because it was indoor seating and out of the weather otherwise it's just a burger and fries. Good food but with all the other choices at EPCOT, really?
AK - Flametree Barbecue
DD - Wolfgang Puck's Express
ASMu food court was great too if you are staying at the All Stars.

MK
-Casey's Corner (premium ballpark dogs, corndog bites, and fries! We always time it it where we're sitting in our places for a parade or wishes to eat late lunch or dinner there... one of us runs to go get the hotdogs for our party and the other saves our space)
-Cosmic Ray's (if they still have the Half roasted chicken & potatoes meal, its definitely big enough to share between two people! We typically get an extra side of fries and nacho cheese to share on the side... its a ton of food!)

Epcot
-Yakitori House (teriyaki chicken & udong noodles are good)
-Cantina CS - (we like to stop here for chips and guac! The nachos are crazy huge too)
-Sunshine Season (good selection)

DHS
-Starring rolls (for a lighter take on lunch... when you get tired of french fries, its a nice break. Plus those cupcakes are amazing and big enough to share)

AK
Yak and Yeti CS
Pizzafari (if you get a pizza craving... although all my pizza experiences with disney haven't been too amazing taste wise. Nothing to really call home about)

DTD
Earl of Sandwich - (must do for us once every trip!!!)
Wolfgang puck express

Resorts
The Fountain @ the Dolphin (Great burgers & shakes. We ate there on our honeymoon after arrival at the Swan. It was delish:)

Just back from our 2nd trip using QSDP (prev. had reg. DDP 5 times, I think)

MK-Columbia Harbor House, Pecos Bills (had the taco salad 2 different times)
AK-Flametree, Kusafiri for SC use
EPCOT-Sunshine Seasons, La Cantina, Tangierine Cafe, and a hidden jewel-Kringla in Norway. Boulangerie Patasierre (sp?)in France for SC.
DHS-sorry, no real favorite CS here but good snacks at Starring Rolls
DTD-Cookes of Dublin, Earl of Sandwich, and of course Wolfgang Puck express.

With a car we also like to visit some of the other resorts to eat at as well. We had excellent CS meals at The Contemp (Contempo Cafe-cooked to order) we ate here 3 times-twice for dinner, once for breakfast. BF was just okay. Also ate at POFQ-nice selection here. DD got their fried chicken meal and unlike POP it was a full 1/2 chicken. At POP it's only 2 pieces-a leg and a breast.

Both chicken meals were very good. POP's was nice and crispy and POFQ was a little less crisp but very flavorful.

POP's Fried Chicken-Mom's Night out Special (we opted for double mashed, skipped the green beans)
I don't think I have a pix of the chicken at POFQ. Family was getting a little tired of me taking food pictures by now!;)

and just one of the possible desserts you can get with your meal
wdw2011038.jpg

3 Ice Cream Sundaes at POP
You can get up to 3 scoops of ice cream, any toppings, even a brownie if you want.:goodvibes

The Pot Roast at POFQ was TDF! Really-so good! I think it was as good as the one they serve at 50's PTC.

POFQ Pot Roast

They also have this build-your-own salad at POFQ. You can add shrimp or chicken plus all the other toppings. YUM!

Shrimp Salad at POFQ

And of course beignets for dessert-how can you go wrong?
wdw2011010.jpg

Beignets at POFQ- 2 orders

Kringla is one of my favorite CS meals at EPCOT. You get a sandwich (large and tasty), a side, a dessert, and a drink for a CS credit.

Here's 2 lunches from Kringla-the Norweigan Club Sandwich was very good! I forget what the other one was!;)

2 Meals from Kringla

Many of the resorts offer soup as a SC so that's a great use of your SC.:goodvibes

Before you go check out my Confirmed Snacks thread (see link below). I'll probably still have the 2011 thread going in early January.

In Epcot, love the bakery in France, and the one in Norway. We enjoy Flametree in AK. And in DD Earl of Sandwich and Puck's Express are both great!

Thanks for the pics! They look amazing! I love taking food pics also and my family gets tired of it too lol. I wasn't even thinking about other resorts but after seeing those pics i might have to try some!

Here' our favorites...

DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express - Our VERY favorite CS restaurant

MK - Columbia Harbour House

AK - Flametree BBQ

DHS - Starring Roles or Backlot Express

Epcot - So many good ones here, but Sunshine seasons or Tangierine Cafe
are our favorites...
:goodvibes

I don't like typical fast food (No Burgers/Fries) That said, here are my favorites.....

Magic Kingdom - Mainstreet Bakery, Columbia Harbour House

EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons

DHS - Starring Rolls

AK - Yak & Yeti

Downtown - Wolfgang Pucks

MK: Columbia Harbour House, Pecos Bill, Cosmic Rays
AK: FlameTree Barbeque
DHS: Nothing is great but BackLot Express is okay
EC: So many great international CS choices. We Enjoy:
La Cantina in Mexico
Sommerfest in Germany
Yakitori House in Japan
Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco
French Bakery in France
Fish & Chips in the UK

Have a Great Trip

My favorite CS is the food court at POR. We also did Cosmic Ray's at MK and found there to be ample seating, which was nice. We did Pizza Planet at DHS and found it to be very crowded and not enough seating - we had to sit on the wall outside.

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons & Electric Umbrella.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary & Backlot Express.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ & Pizzafari.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: Earl of Sandwich.

Contemporary: Contempo Cafe.

Boardwalk Inn/Boardwalk Villas: Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window & Boardwalk To Go.

We normally have fish meals at CHH. It's our favorite CS in MK, we stop every time.

Cosmic Ray's is good too. Sometimes they have a performing audio-animatronic there who's nice entertainment.

We stop at Casey's Corner too. I'm not a Hot Dog fan but we still stop (My Mom and Brother love hot dogs) and I'll normally get a soda and a bag of chips if I'm hungry (Which I'm normally not because I've already had breakfast)

At Epcot we tried the Fish and Chips in the UK and liked them.

At DHS we never really stop at a CS. Normally we just get snacks to eat.

We barely ever go to AK, but we'll be stopping there next trip bc we are planning on a week down at the world. I'm thinking I'd like Pizzafari because I love Pizza.

For our family it is:

MK- CHH or Peco Bills.
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons.
DHS: Starring Rolls.
AK: Flametree BBQ
DTD: Wolfgang Puck Express.

Columbia Harbor House is my personal fave apart from Wolfgang though, get sick of the usual burger fare sometimes :)

The 3 that pop into my head are: POR, ASMu and Pepper Market at CSR, Mara at AKL that's 4.

OH you meant in the parks, my bad.

MK - Columbia Harbour House
Epcot - Kringla Bakeri and Sunshine Seasons
AK - Flame Tree BBQ
DHS - Backlot Express
DTD - WPE Marketplace (better the one on the West Side) and Earl of Sandwich

My favorite QS meal of our entire trip was Flame Tree BBQ at AK. Now let me add this, I am a BBQ snob. I grew up in OK and TX and my Dad owned 2 BBQ restaurants and I take my BBQ very seriously! I was very impressed with the food. I had the ribs and they were fantastic! My favorite part of the meal were the BBQ beans. They weren't just some bland pinto beans in some sauce. They had a wonderful flavor. They reminded me of my Dad's beans. I remember customers saying they drove one hundred miles just for my Dad's BBQ beans. Trust me, this is worth a try!
