Best Counter Service Meals

Not including kid's meals which are quite limiting, here are some of our favourites:

AK - Tusker House (love the salmon and chicken with garlic mashed potatoes is yummy)

MK- Cosmic Rays (chicken & rib platter is really good) also Columbia Harbour House and Pecos Bill's are pretty good too

MGM- have not had much success here but usually go to Pizza Planet for dd's (don't have kid's menu so kids get the "adult" pizza) -- but it is not as terrible as the reviews have been

Epcot- I have not had a chance to sample much (due to having 2 ts for breakfast and dinner) but once had a platter from the Cantina in Mexico which was OK

Blizzard Beach- the Turkey Legs at Avalunch are yummy.

DTD- Wolfgang Puck Express (Marketplace) is wonderful--loved the BBQ chicken quesidillas (sp?) and the spinach/mushroom pizza mmmmmmm:thumbsup2

AK - Tusker House is good but we LOVE Flametree BBQ
MK- Yeah, Cosmic Rays and Columbia Harbour House (upstairs, where it's quiet)
MGM- the market area -- pausing on the names
Epcot- Fish & Chips in the UK, stew in Japan, or chicken in Morocco. Or go through the Gateway and grab something yummy at Beaches & Cream's takeout.

MK either Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbor House or Pecos Bills, EPCOT Electric Umbrella for burgers, AK Tusker House or Flame Tree BBQ, MGM used to be Backlot Express.

We liked Cosmic Rays and Pinocchios at the MK and the Earl of Sandwich at DTD.

ABC Commissary - Chicken Curry (yum!)
Cosmic Rays - BBQ Ribs

MGM- I can't believe no one has given Rosie's All American a shout out! We always have a bite there...GREAT burgers! (Pizza Planet...:crazy2: )

Magic Kingdom- El Pirata Y el perico Restaurante (you know, the taco place by POC). We always seem to encounter rain after riding POC and get taco's while we wait for it to subside.

Epcot- Yakitori House in Japan. My DS and I love to eat here! Electric Umbrella. Basic (good) food, lot's of places to sit, A/C.

Animal Kingdom- Flame Tree B-B-Q. Family loved the ribs, but I thought it was so-so.

peco bills, pinn haus, earl of sandwich, american pavilian...To be honest we loved everywhere we ate..

MGM-

When did you find this open?

The ones that stand out in my mind:

Earl of Sandwich-Downtown Disney-can you say FAB-U-LOUS!!!

Yakitori House-Epcot-Japan-Yummy, yummy!

Tusker House-Animal Kingdom-probably the best CS at WDW in my opinion!

subscribing :thumbsup2 Keep the opinions coming!

At MK: Columbia Harbour House and Main Street Bakery.

At Epcot: Sunshine Seasons in the Land, Tangierine Cafe in Morocco, and Kringla Bakeri in Norway

At MGM: I had a veggie burger at Rosie's that was okay, nothing special. It was quite large. I think next time I'd like to try ABC Comissary. But I hardly ever spend a full day in this park, so I haven't sampled much of its food.

At AK: I've eaten at Flame Tree years ago as a non-vegetarian and thought it was nice. Tusker House has lots of choices for the non-veggie as well and my DH liked his chicken meal. I'm hoping the new TS restaurant will have good veggie options, because for all the animal-friendliness of the park, the food isn't particularly animal-friendly. :rotfl:

MK: El Pirata y El Perico. This is our absolute favorite CS anywhere, and we're so disappointed that it's not open very often.

Epcot: We usually eat over at Cantina de San Angel...especially during times that El Pirata y El Perico at MK is closed.

MGM: Backlot Express or Pizza Planet

AK: Pizzafari

I never knew it was hard to find it open :confused3 It has always been open when we were there. Is it closed seasonaly? We go in July, maybe that makes a differance?

Well, "seasonally" is highly relative to the powers that be, apparently. Here's our experiences with it:
Beginning of June (2003): open
Beginning of June (2004): closed
End of June (2000): open
Mid July (2001): closed
Beginning of August (2005): closed
Mid September (2006): closed

It's been known to be open during slow seasons and closed during busy seasons and vice versa. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

We tend to avoid July, travelled during Feb, April, May or October the past few years. I can't tell you the last time we ate there. It was a nice change of pace. I know last year or the year before they had it open as a buffet during free dining, but it was closed again by our October trip.

magic kingdom- peco bills, cosmic rays, havent tried columbia harbour house but heard its good

ak- flametree bbq

mgm- we usually just snack around Pizza planet is good though

epcot- where do i begin? lamb schwarma platter in morocco; fish n chips;

If you like steak, specifically prime rib, try the Pepper Market at CSR! The best cut I've had in WDW. Wash it down with an ice cold Sammy.... nothing better!:thumbsup2
