Last year around this time of the year I found a great thread on suggestions for the best Counter Services all over WDW, for those of us who don't want to eat burgers, hot dogs and fries all the time. Does anyone still have this list? I would be your very best friend for life..... ;)

I can't get the search engine to work.

Here are some of us:

Magic Kingdom -- Columbia Harbor House -- great salad, soup, chili, tuna and vegetarian sandwiches on whole grain bread, fried fish

Epcot -- Sunshine Seasons -- various stations -- Sandwich, Soup & Salad, Wok Shop, etc.

Hollywood Studios -- we do not eat at any of the counter service -- so no help there

Animal Kingdom -- Flame Tree Barbecue -- barbecued saandwiches and platters -- ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, baked beans, smoked turkey and salads

Here are our favorites:

MK -- Columbia Harbor House (great clam chowder and good sandwiches and Pinocchio Haus (love the figaro fries and great sandwich)

Epcot -- Tangerience Cafe (Shwarma Platter...Yummy!) & Boulangerie Patisserie (great pastries and a couple of great sandwiches but you have to find a place outside to sit)

AK -- Flame Tree (What can I say? We love all kinds of BBQ.)

DHS -- Cuban at ABC is hit-or-miss -- sometimes great, other times awful

DTD -- Wolfgang Puck's Express (excellent!!) & Earl of Sandwich

Poly -- Capt. Cook's

CSR -- Peppermarket (It seems as if folks either love or hate this place. There's no in between. We've always had good experiences here.)

I second the Pepper Market- it's SO great. They have Asian, Mexican, Italian, steak, salads, a great bakery.. so much variety and great deal with the DDP.

Port Orleans Riverside has great pasta and salad, Saratoga Springs has good flatbreads and soups, Beach Club has yummy sandwiches including one made with fresh mozzarella, Captain Cook's pulled pork sandwich, All Star Movies features delicious pasta dishes...and that's just the resorts! We like Pizzafari at AK for the hot Italian deli sandwich, Pinocchio's Village Haus for the Figaro Fries and pannini, and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot for the Asian dishes and soups. We spend 6 weeks a year at WDW and we rarely eat hamburgers or hot dogs!

Beaches and Cream - Go early or at an off peak meal time. They have great burgers, sandwiches and wonderful ice cream. On the DDP it is a TS, because it's a sit down restaurant, but the prices are very CS.

Sunshine Seasons - CS, but they have a nice Asian menu, salads, Rotisserie Chicken, and probably the only good CS desserts.

Tangeriene - Another CS, but their platters taste and 'feel' like a TS meal. The Schwarma platters are wonderful.

Cantina de San Angel - Another CS, but no burgers to be found here. The Chicken Taco was very good. I didn't care for the nachos here, well I hated them, but I do not like beans. I ordered without beans but they wouldn't special order for me here.

Pinocchio's Village Haus - Turkey Panini sandwich and Figaro Fries, a match made in heaven.

Cosmic Rays - We didn't have good luck here, but they have a rotisserie chicken and Ribs combo.

Pecos Bills - Yummy Chicken wrap sandwich

Columbia Harbor House - Fried Fish, Chicken Strips (now called nuggets because the strips are small, but they're the same meat as a traditional strip and also deep fried like a strip). They also have a wonderful sandwich and soup combo

Studios - Mostly burger fare. Though at MGM you aren't too far from Epcot, you could boat to Epcot for dinner and hop back to MGM after dinner (if you have hoppers)

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ has a menu that looks like it's not typical burgers and fries.

Downtown Disney - Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. WPE feels NOTHING like a CS other than you wait in line to order. When your food is ready they bring it to you and they bus your table for you when you're done. The menu is WONDERFUL and we never had a problem with the quality.

Forgive me if I sound like a broken record to anyone. There have been a few Best CS Restaurant threads this week, so I am just copying and pasting my suggestions for any subsequent posts.:goodvibes

Epcot - Fish & Chips at Rose Crown, Schwarama at Tangerine Cafe

HS - Nothing worthwhile for CS

Magic - Harbor House (Chicken Strips are pretty good), Tacos at La Pirata y El Piroco are pretty good but this place isn't open all the time

AK - Flame Tree BBQ

Beach Club Pool - Hurricane Hanna's makes a pretty good burger.. only downside is it doesn't come with fries so I think you would have to use your snack to add fries to the meal

I second the Pepper Market- it's SO great. They have Asian, Mexican, Italian, steak, salads, a great bakery.. so much variety and great deal with the DDP.

I agree with Pepper Market at CSR , at MK it's Cosmic Ray's Combo meal!at AK Yak & Yeti counter service Shrimp Lo Mein,at Epcot I love oop cheese plate in France ..delish,MGM I'm still figuring out.

The food courts at the mods and values are great. Sunshine Seasons, Cantina San Angel and Yakitori House at Epcot. Earl of Sandwich in DTD as well as Wolfgang Puck's Express. At AK now that they have made Tusker House full service, I would have to say Flame Tree BBQ and I also like Pizzafari (but only their sandwiches). At MK, I like Columbia Harbor House and Village Haus. And my most favorite cs in all of WDW: Artists Palette at Saratoga Springs. Wonderful flatbreads pizzas, salads, sandwiches and bakery items.

At MGM, I have yet to find any cs that really excites me. Which is why I always go to Sci Fi when I go there!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I appreciate the time and effort. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

the real only reason my husband is wanting to go back to por is the create your own pasta..it is soooo good

Tangierine Cafe - Excellent Schwarma Platters - EPCOT

Flame Tree BBQ - great tasting food - AK

Columbia Harbor House - Excellent Chowder - MK

ABC Commissionary - good chicken curry - Studios

POFQ foodcourt is one of the best resort counter service I have exerienced.

at epcot it has to be the patteserie in france, lovely sandwiches and pastries always somewehre to sit inside and eat and take a break from the sun and ds1 can go and colour at the kidstop and we can eat :thumbsup2

MK: We also like cosmic Rays good selection of food and again always can find somewhere to sit, nothing worse than wandering around with a tray full of food.

DHS: Have to agree with previous posters that this is the weakest park with regards to c/s food. :confused3 if we have to eat in here we normally go to toy story pizza planet, pizza wont kill you again always seems to be seating available and ds1 loves the themeing in here.

AK: Flame tree BBQ though having looked at the menu for Yak and Yeti, if it tastes as good as it sounds think this may be the winner on our next trip.

Hollywood Studios

If You like the best pulled pork sandwich in town on a roll get one of these. Ive had others on property that where dry and tasteless, this one is very good

Flatbread grille near the honey I shrunk the kids play area.

We stay at the Epcot resorts and shoot over there just for lunch, and we are picky about food. We just wANTED TO GIVE YOU A REALLY GOOD CHOICE AT THE studios, Its a sleeper because its hard to find.

Your so sweet for letting me know. Everyone is great for helping me out. It seems there just isn't a lot of places at MGM to dine that appears all that great.

I LOVE the terryaki chicken and rice at the counter service plane in the Japan pavillion at Epcot. It's a must for me. :)
