HI everyone!!
We are on the dining plan, and was wondering with all the expertise advice out there where and what is the best place to split COUNTER service meals?

I was hoping we'd be able to split and use one counter for breakfast & one for lunch...

Come'on thrifty people, help me out here :thanks:

Well we normally take pop tarts or something like that for a quick breakfast and then enjoy a cs for lunch. I know that doesn't answer your question but it's a suggestion to keep you from having to split your meals.

Pecos Bill's In Frontierland. HUGE platters with a great fixens bar..easy to split & both be full! :thumbsup2

The largest CS I saw anyplace was at Cosmic Rays in MK.

1 CS credit gets you:

1/2 rotisserie chicken
1/2 rack ribs
1 corn on the cob (small)
1 decent sized serving of mashed potatoes
1 beverage
1 dessert (chocolate cake was tasty and a decent size)

At MK has 1/2 chicken and BBQ ribs combo platter for I think $13.50 that me and DW have split often. It is good food and plenty enough to split for 2 adults. :goodvibes

The problem is with breakfast. CS breakfast's aren't that expensive but you don't really get enough of the entrée to split. I'd either pay out of pocket or just have breakfast in your room.

At Pecos Bill, you can order a double cheeseburger and then pay 99 cents to get an extra bun. Then you can split the double cheeseburger into two separate burgers. The topppings bar has sauteed mushrooms and onions and cheese sauce so you can make cheese fries. A good choice. You could add an extra order of fries.

At Tusker House, the wrap comes with corn chowder. You could order an extra corn chowder and split the wrap between the two of you.

Wolfgang Pucks's Express has some great meals that could be split and you could add an extra entree to finish out the split.

Depending on what you like for breakfast and where you are staying.....I usually bring a box of DD's favorite cereal and get milk/juice at the resort. I basically just have a cup of tea for breakfast.

I dont think there is much for breakfast worth spending a CS credit. Lunch is a better use.

The only counter service meal that we ate that I would have split was at Flame Tree BBQ. There rib meals are pretty big. Even at that I would have ordered some french fries to split.

I guess it depends on your appetite, but I think the fish/chicken and fries combo basket at Columbia Harbor House has quite a bit of food. DH and I could share it especially if we had dessert too.

Cosmic Rays sounds good. I think i will try that one out too. i didn't ask the question but sure do appreciate the tips!

You can also cut the double cheeseburger in half and not deal with the extra bun hassle.

Tangierine Cafe also has pretty good size meals to split.

IMHO, the 2 best CS meals for splitting are the chicken and ribs plate at Cosmic Rays in MK and the chicken and lamb shawarma platter at Tangerine Cafe in Epcot, Morocco. Both provide enough food (with the shared dessert and drink) for 2 adults.

All the wrap sandwiches I saw on my trip were large, though you might want to get another side if one of you is a big eater. Imagine a wrap made out of a larger (burrito-sized) tortilla. That's size they were. So about 9" long and about 2" thick. I wasn't on the dining plan, but I gave my husband (bottomless pit) the other half of my wrap when I got one.

I appreciate all these great ideas!!! Anyone know of great counter service meals to split at parks other than the MK?

We're doing the keys to the kingdom tour at mk and includes lunch at Harbour house.
Cosmic Rays & Peco's sounds great. Hopefully we can work out having lunch at the MK 3x that week.

Could use some more ideas at Animal Kingdom, Mgm, & Epcot please
:thanks:

Great thread!!

Has anyone tried Old Port Royale at Caribbean Beach Resort for a counterservice meal? On the menu, it says that you can pick an entree (let's say the chicken) and add a choice of 2 sides (say, corn and mashed potatoes). That total cost would be $14.99. Would this all be considered one counter service credit? I assume you could get a beverage and dessert with it too. Thanks for anyone who has done this!
