We are heading to MK for one day in two weeks and wondering if cosmic ray's would be best choice for counter service?? Last year we brought our own food in and snacked all day but my dad is coming that day and he is diabetic so he will need a full lunch. suggestions of best place to eat in MK. thanks

Cosmic Ray's does seem to have a lot of choices, but our favorite in the MK is Columbia Harbor House!

I love Cosmic Ray's for the wide variety of choices.
My family usually splits up onto different lines... I'll get a burger, my sons get ribs for one and chicken tenders for the other and my DH gets rotisserie chicken. We never leave there unsatisfied.

Does Plaza Restaurant count as counter service? If so I'd go there. Otherwise perhaps Columbia Harbor House. We didn't enjoy Cosmic Ray's.

Another fan of Columbia Harbour House. We used to like Cosmic Rays, but the last couple of time the ribs and chicken were SO greasy.

I have always liked Cosmic Rays, but last trip we ate at Pecos Bill's & I loved the taco salad! We will be returning there for sure!!

My family loves Columbia Harbour House ! Dining upstairs is so relaxing and less crowded. We always go in the Summer and eating upstairs beats the crowd. I was not at all impressed w/ Cosmic Ray's. Again, we went there in July last year and it was insanely crowded. Not fun.... My DS 9 loves hot dogs, so Casey's Corner was great for him. Also, Pecos Bill's has good burgers w/ lots of fixings to choose from and nice quiet seating, after you order, get your fixings, walk to the right, then left, up towards the back.
:hippie:

Cosmic Rays is the most fun. Columbia Harbor House is good though

No, I am sorry. The BEST counter service restaurant is El Pirata y El Pericho. It is just rarely open. We really like Pinochio's as well, you can look down on small world (pun intended).

In all of my trips to Disney I've only seen it open once. We ate there, and it was okay. But I wouldn't plan my trip around the 10 days a year it seems to be open and I wouldn't say it's the best either.

The Plaza is TS only. I agree with you on Cosmic Ray's. I did not enjoy my sandwich. I prefer to go to Columbia Harbor House or Pecos Bill's if I want a burger.

I've always liked Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray's and Columbia Harbor House, but this year we had a less than perfect experience at CHH. It was last Friday, and MK was very busy. We placed our order and waited and waited and waited. People who ordered after us were getting their food as well as people who ordered similar items. We didn't have anything unusual, just 2 tuna sandwiches, 1 chicken/fish plate and a kids' chicken nuggets. After about 10 minutes of waiting, we saw our food appear at the window, but it took several more minutes for them to hand it to us. I don't know what the problem was, but it was really ridiculous to have to wait that long for quick service food.

I agree with both CHH and Cosmic Rays, but I do think the atmosphere at CHH is quieter and much more relaxing. Your father may enjoy that more, especially if you sit upstairs near a window. It's a nice little break from the business of the park.
