We are planning on buying DD's halloween costume while in WDW (we are not attending MNSSHP). Where is the best place to buy costumes? Are they better ones then the ones you get at the Disney store (back home at the mall)? I was planning on getting one from Tink's shop in MK. Any other suggestions?:wizard:

I bought my DD a costume from the MK on our last trip. It was a cinderella deluxe costume. I think it cost about $76, but it is so much prettier then the ones in the store. The deluxe costumes are so cute, & I have not seen them in the store. The only one I have seen in the store, was the red Belle costume. So I would definitely wait.

I have bought the deluxe costumes in the Disney Store before. My oldest daughter's Cinderella and Belle deluxe costumes came from the Disney Store. Our Disney Store closed here, so I don't know if they will carry them this year. Also, the Disneyshopping.com site has the deluxe costumes. The regular costumes are on sale right now for $29.99 and the crown and wand combo is $9.99. That's a pretty good deal. Hope this helps.

My local Disney Store has Deluxe Cinderella and a Deluxe Mulan.

My only complaint are some of the shoes! Even the deluxe Cindy shoes didn't fit DD6 properly, and the regular glass slipper type ones seemed like they would be very uncomfortable and hot.

Since DD had to have matching shoes, the princess she is, we ended up with the $39 Belle gold ball gown with "sandle" type shoes with light up heels.
I have to say I'm much more impressed with the Disney store costumes than a run of the mill Halloween USA costume.

Is there a bigger variety in the park or is it the same as the stores back home?

When we went 2 years ago World of Disney at WDW had the same stuff as our local store. But, as I said our local store has closed so I'm not sure what they are offering for this Halloween season. I will certainly be checking out World of Disney in about 3 weeks though!

That's the day we leave for WDW! :woohoo:
See you there!

The deluxe costumes in the stores are not the same as the ones in Disney. I have never seen the wedding Cinderella costume that I got for my DD in the store or online.

There's a deluxe Cinderella Wedding costume with the matching crown/veil and the fancy shoes on disneyshopping.com. I think the dress was about $75.00, but the accessories are on sale.

yes but what I said was it is not the same costume as the one in Disney. The one is Disney looks to be a better quality, & it is fancier then the one on disneyshopping.com
