best cheapy cheapy hotel to stay in

Check out resortcerts.com. They sell rent weeks at a time at RCI properties for 599.00 a week, but sometimes you can get them for 249.00. We just did this, and will be staying at Wyndham Cypress Palms in a 2 bedroom/2 bath (sleeps 8) with full kitchen and laundry for 249.00 for the week. Both the site and the hotel have great reviews. Only about 10 minutes from Disney. I am an onsite snob, but very excited about this trip.

i have been looking at all the resort and condo but the ones that could hold us all want 2k or better for our 8 night stay and not much better at even a 7 night stay

I would try Hotwire or Priceline.Make sure that you state two rooms and on Priceline pick the name your own price option.

That was going to my suggestion. The only issue with Priceline is that they only guarantee double occupancy. MOST rooms have sleeping space for 4, but some don't. It's been a while since I used Priceline though, so they could have changed the policy.

Hotwire has a 2.5 star hotel for $31/night around Christmas near Disney. (they allow you to put in the exact number of people you need space for)
This issue with both these options is that first of all you won't know exactly what you're getting until after you book, and everything must be paid in advance, which doesn't allow for changes.
In general, it's best to research this option as much as possible before committing to it, especially in vacation situations.

The problem is that Orlando is a very popular vacation spot for Christmas break. Everywhere you look will likely charge more for this week than for any other week of the year. Even people who have properties listed on VRBO charge more for this week.
Regardless, it will be better for you to find something as soon as possible, because most of the really good deals will sell out quickly.

Check our resortcerts.com. We got a 2 bedroom condo (sleeps 8) for 249.00 for a week.

Super 8/maingate/orlando area. It's w irlo bronson Hwy, and my son and I stayed in June for $45 per night. The rooms are nice, and look just like the pictures on their website. They were clean, no bugs, no mildew smell. We felt safe there. The pool is very small, and in the middle of the parking lot, but clean.

It is not fancy, but it's cheap, clean, and very close to Disney. The rooms all come with a microwave and fridge.

I found it by having expedia sort by price, and then cross referencing with trip advisor. They are rated #6 in the area, which is awesome.

I believe this is were i stayed last time we went thanks.

Thank you everyone for your help

Thanks for the info....I was looking for something like that also and found something today. I booked at knights inn which is in the same area. I reserved on priceline for $27 a night ....I will only stay one night and I'm hoping it turns out well.

I'd like to know more about the Resort Certs. $249 for a week sounds amazing! I tried looking around on the site, but I couldn't really figure it out. It looks like there is a housekeeping fee on top of the $249; is that true?

For those of you that have booked and stayed through Resort Certs, can you tell us how it works?

Most of the hotels only charge the housekeeping fees if you stay less than 7 days, or if you request extra housekeeping. Mind you, these are condos so there is not house keeping every day.

This thread has a lot of discussion about it :

i am talking under $70 a night or cheaper. I want cheap cheap cheap

We stayed at Seralago Xmas-New Years week 2 or 3 years ago... I think we paid $25 a night all nights but New Years Eve, there they charged $39. Not the cleanest, small dark room.... but CHEAP for Xmas week.

When I went last December, I got a good deal through condodirect.com. We had a 2 bedroom condo for 7 nights for under $500. We stayed at he Mystic Dunes resort and it was very nice. Clean, full kitchen, washer dryer

Doubt u went Xmas week for that rate... Xmas week the rates are SKY high for all rentals, all rental cars, etc. The busiest week of the year at MCO and Orlando. Most VRBO and homeaway and condodirect rentals have a sep price for this week that is WELL above their usual asking price.

This is what I would do. I was thinking about staying in a condo 2 years ago over Christmas and contacted owners using that website. Pricing was about $100 per night. That's more than you wanted to pay, but you will have a full kitchen and a washer/dryer which should make up for the extra $$. Feeding your crew back at the resort will save you a ton of money per day. You can also check www.vrbo.com for rentals. You may need to stay a little bit away from WDW to get a real bargain.

I recently saw a news report about "motel kids." Homeless families are living in these ultra-cheap motels in Orlando and Kissimmee. The report said that many tourists are victims of crime when they stay at the ultra cheap lodging. The people living there make friends with the security guards who look the other way while they break into cars and rooms.

The last time we stayed at a cheap motel on Irlo Bronson Hwy in Kissimmee, someone tried to get in our room in the middle of the night. That was the last time we stayed offsite.

I'm a big fan of Priceline, and I go to the biddingfortravel.com website to get an idea of what folks are placing as winning bids. I've never been unhappy with a hotel room I got via Priceline. A previous posted mentioned that they say 'only guarantee double occupancy', which it true, but unless you're staying in NYC (where they really MEAN double occupancy, the rooms are so tiny!), it shouldn't be an issue. I never bid below a 3 star hotel, and I never pay more than $75 per night.

Good luck!

cheap cheap cheap ..............

We presently have reserved a room at the Continental Plaza Hotel for 30 bucks a night from Nov 21-25 and Dec 14-20.

We have stayed here over 5 times in the past 3 years. It is an older hotel, but we felt safe.

We booked though Hotels.com. They have 30-40 percent off sales each Tues and Weds. We like using them because we can cancel as late as 24 hours in advance and still get a refund.

The price will go up and down from week to week, but 30-39 bucks is VERY common.

We are AP holders, so cheap places allow us to afford the AP.

The hotel is a 2 star hotel.
