Best/Cheapest Way to Get to Cape Canaveral from the Radisson

We are thinking about taking a quick trip over to Cape Canaveral the evening before our cruise. What would be the best way to do that from our hotel, the Radisson? How long should it take us? Any suggestions on what to do there with two dds, 8 and4, or would you recommend against it with kids that young? Lots of walking or other negatives? Thanks for your help!

We did Cape Canaveral after our cruise in January with DD age 9. We had a rental car from Avis. I believe it took about 30 minutes from Port--you can see the Cape from the ship, but can't get there easily. We found it educational--there isn't that much walking--there is a bus to take you to the exhibits. Not sure if your youngest DD would enjoy it or not. You may want to check hours--when you say evening--I think it closes at 5.
