I have Verizon VZ Navigator on my phone, and it's driving me nuts. (Can't hear it, and can't really use phone at same time.)

So I'm thinking of biting the bullet for a "real" GPS before our trip to avoid that chronic lost feelings on the WDW parkways.

What GPS do you use? What do you love/hate about it?

And who has gotten one they love the cheapest?

Garmin makes good GPS units. Recently, Magellan has been making good ones, as well. Any in their 1400 series is a good buy, with the 1440 being my favorite. Used it at disney, and only got lost once..had EPCOT in Dowtown Disney??:confused3

We bought a Magellan from Costco for $159 (in Canada, probably less in the US) and is a basic model but extremely user friendly. Friends of ours have a Tom Tom which they hate so they are buying a different one. You would pay more for extra features but we have used ours for so many trips and never needed anything more than the basic GPS.

If you get a Garmin or TomTom unit you can go to mousesavers.com and download POI into your GPS and it will store all the theme parks as well as hotels and Downtown Disney.
Just go to their site and click on plane, rental car. Then you should see the link and it is free! :cool1:

I've seen a Tom Tom One on tigerdirect.com for as low as $60. I have a Navigon, which I love, but Navigon has left the North American market due to price cutting by competitors, which has eliminated the profit margin!

I love my Nextar GPS! It was 129.99.:thumbsup2
Has 4.3" touch screen. Great GPS, great price. I must say that it works well. I drove my nephew to college, and it took us exactly there. The live traffic report helped out as well. It is pretty accurate! I haven't had any issues with getting lost. I love how it shows the High Way signs, highlighting the exact sign you should be following.

Nextar 43LT is the model. I got it from Bestbuy.

We love it!! We used in DC and got around just fine. It speaks the road names (not all of them do) but in DC where you have 5 streets around a circle all going in different directions all of them are in 200 ft!! Definately need one that says the names of the streets if you are going to bigger cities. It was about $150....
