Where are the cheapest places to eat in WDW that are actually good food? I have looked at a couple of QS and they can range from 17.99 to 6.99 for a meal so just planning to eat QS doesn't really cover the difference between the cheap ones and the more pricy ones. We usually have a dining plan so we don't really pay much attention to prices. This is a first for us. What's your favorite budget meal in the World?

AK, Yak and Yeti counter service: chicken fried rice (3.99) and an egg roll (3.29), tap water to drink. You can save .30 if someone will split an order of 2 egg rolls with you (2 for 5.99). :)

The baked potatoes (sweet or regular!) in Liberty Square are really great! I also love getting an order of vegetarian chili and a side of broccoli at Columbia Harbor House. I often do this with someone else and then we each get our own soup and broccoli and split an order of fries. :)

For breakfast, getting slices of bread and then using the peanut butter and jelly at the fixings bar to make a sandwich is a great way to go. Very cheap!

In general, I find that getting combos of an entree, sides, and a salad and/or soup and splitting them family style between two adults is almost always much much cheaper and somewhat healthier than getting two individual full quick service entrees. We do eat a little more frequently because of this but we are never stuffed to the gills and I still think we spend way less in the end. We started doing this because as vegetarians there's usually only one thing on the menu anyway, but now I think it's a smart way to save money, too. If we're really hungry of course we'll get full meals each, but splitting entrees 4-6 times a day with some sides and snacks also paces us well and we get to try lots of things.

We have always felt Cosmic Rays was a good value with good food in Magic Kingdom. Also in Epcot, fish and chips in England and the food court in the land are good values. Not cheap but you can share a Cobb Salad in Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios.

Oh, I'd also add that we have had several very good value meals at Raglan Road, again splitting a salad, side of fries, and a heartier entree. With the extremely delicious bread, it's a very satisfying meal almost for the same cost as a higher end counter service.

The platters at TC are big enough to split and delish, the Plaza gives you a nice quiet well air conditioned ts for not much more than qs, Les hailles and Kringla are also a good value and SS has quite a few nicely priced items.

What is TC?

Katsura Grill at EPCOT's Japan pavilion. A filling meal for $10. The curry is comfort food. It's also a reliable air conditioned place to sit.

I second the Chicken Fried Rice at Yak & Yeti CS in AK! It is enough for me and my 4 year old to share. I have also shared the rice with the 2 egg rolls with my husband and it is plenty for us. The Chicken fried Rice is $3.99 and 2 egg rolls are $5.99.

Don't order a side. You can just get the main part of any QS meal and leave out the sides. It will reduce the cost of the meal.
Order a kids meal. I do this a lot in Sunshine seasons in Epcot. The grilled chicken salad is really a large portion plus it comes with sides and a small drink. It's usually at least $2 bucks less than a regular meal.

Shhh! Don't give away my favorite QS place! ;)

I second it. Food here is reasonably priced and very good.

WOW! Is the portion of chicken fried rice more like a side? That sounds like a really good lunch!
I don't eat like a bird, more like Big Bird. :) The fried rice and egg roll was plenty of food for me. If you google it and search images, you will see the size of the take out box the rice comes in. That rice has a way of expanding inside the container.
