What is the best overall character meal for boy6 and girl4?

I'd say you can't go wrong with Chef Mickey's.

Our favorite character meal is Cape May Cafe. It was great for the little ones in there, but I went with DS17, DD16, DD's BFF,and DH (who does not like WDW). Even stuffy teenagers and people who don't like WDW had a blast there!!! Every one of them had a blast so I made sure to take a few pictures of them playing with Goofy since I knew no one would believe they were ALL having fun!!!

For atmosphere, Chef Mickey's, but the food at dinner is just so-so. 1900 Park fare and Crystal Palace have good character interaction and much better food IMHO.

It really depends on whether or not the food is important. Like a PP said, Chef Mickey's is great for atmosphere - dynamic and loud - but the food is some of the worst on property.

We love Crystal Palace's character breakfast - good interaction, lovely setting, and well-maintained buffet.

Crystal Palace or Lilo and Stitch at Poly. My middle daughter is a big Stitch fan.

I love Chef Mickey's and I do not think the food is that bad. It is not "out-of-this-world" but it is pretty good.

And the characters are great for both boys and girls because there is Mickey AND Minnie. So Chef Mickey's has my vote.

Like many of the others, I'd say Chef Mickey's. My kids are the exact same age. If yours are still into Pooh and friends (mine are), then Crystal Palace is excellent as well!! We did both in 2007 and will do both again in 2009, with addition of a CRT lunch for just us girls, and a T-Rex dinner (not really character, I know) one night "for DS".

our favorite so far has to be Tusker House - we get to eat breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. The food was very good - the interaction is great. Daisy has a dance, complete with instruments and the kids dance around and sing and shake their bodies.
