It seems like a lot of the character meals are breakfast. I don't want to go on rides and wall the parks being super full.

What are the best character meals for lunch or dinner.

We are doing CRT for breakfast one morning but I want one more character meal. We have the disney dining plan. We are a party of two with no kids.

If you want princesses, Akershus sounds very interesting.
If you want Chip, Dale and some of the other of the Fab 5 (not guaranteed, but they do appear occasionally, I've heard), try Garden Grill.
Crystal Palace has Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet, same characters as at breakfast.
We're trying all three for dinner the first time on our Jan 2014 trip. My guess is that the food will rank in the same order as I've listed them above, based on others' feedback and reviews of their experiences.

Of the character dinners that I *have* been to, I preferred 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella, her prince, her stepsisters and her stepmother) over Chef Mickey's (Fab 5). By a lot. The food and atmosphere were better, IMHO.

Tusker House both breakfast and lunch are possibly the most underrated character meals if you're into buffets. The Garden Grill at Epcot is really fun too. My advice is don't do Chef Mickey's for dinner, cause breakfast is a million times better. I would go with Tusker House lunch or Garden Grill dinner.

We enjoyed 1900 park fare for dinner. Cinderella and the prince. and the stepsisters and mom are lots of fun. Food was pretty good.

On our last trip we went to Crystal Palace twice, once for breakfast, and once for dinner. The breakfast was much better IMO and it wasn't as chaotic and crazy. Not all the tables were full so there was more room to walk around tables to get to the buffet.

We're trying out Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fair this trip! I heard a lot of good reviews for 1900 Park Fair for dinner

These are some great character meals for dinner (in no particular order):
1. 1900 Park Fare (GF)
2. Crystal Palace (MK)
3. Chef Mickeys (CR)
4. Garden Grill (Epcot)

NOTE1: Results are listed from best to worst. Overall, Tusker House wins due to best food and
the length of time the characters stay at each table. A close second is 1900 Park Fare. By far,
Chef Mickey's is the loser, due to mediocre character interaction and almost terrible in quality.
The very distant second worst is Cinderella Royal Table, due to brief time at tables for characters
and the new menu.

NOTE2: Characters
. . . 1900 Breakfast: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh & friends
. . . 1900 Dinner: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Step Sisters
. . . Akershus Banquet : Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine
. . . Cape May Café : Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy
. . . Chef Mickey : Mickey, Minnie, Chip-n-Dale, Goofy
. . . Cinderella Royal Table: Cinderella (downstairs), Ariel, Aurora, Snow White; (maybe Belle, Jasmine)
. . . Crystal Palace : Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet
. . . Hollywood and Vine : Disney Junior Characters
. . . Ohana : Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
. . . Tusker House : Donald (outside only, unless heavy rain when inside), Mickey, Goofy, Daisy

I'm thinking 1900 fare is the way to go. I did a breakfast there like three years ago. It just stinks that most of the best character meals are breakfast. We are definitely night people. Even at home we eat dinner at 8:30 / 9.
