We are taking our nephew, age 7, to Dis in Feb with our family. He is a mega-boy, likes Bakugan, dinosaurs, etc. Wondering where we can find a boy-ish character meal that he would enjoy? Thanks!

Hmm, there seems to be a bit of a shortage of selection for the boys when it comes to character meals.

I only have a daughter but she isn't into all the princesses. Are you not wanting to do Chef Mickey/Garden Grill or the places with the traditional Mickey and the gang? Or were you just looking for something specifically boyish?

My nephew (5) enjoyed the breakfast at the Poly with Lilo & Stitch or how about Donald's Breakfastosaourus (spelled really poorly!)

The 'Ohana breakfast at the Poly with Stitch gets my vote. Stitch was a riot last year with DS12.

The Mad Hatter at 1900 Park Fare was great, too ... but Alice and Mary Poppins are also there so your nephew may not like that as much.

If they're into Fab Five-type character meals and too old for Pooh, it's usually suggested to try 'Ohana breakfast (Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch - Stitch is especially popular with boys), Chef Mickey's for any meal, Garden Grill dinner (Chip & Dale appear there with Mickey and Pluto) or Donald's Safari Breakfast (there is no Breakfastosaurus anymore - this breakfast, at Tusker House restaurant in MK, replaced it). Cape May has a breakfast with Donald, Goofy and Minnie. If you're after something other than Fab Five the Garden Grove at the Swan (not the same thing as Garden Grill) has Rafiki and Timon from Lion King on Monday and Friday nights.

So there are plenty of princessless character meals around.

If you are not trying to use the dining plan, consider foregoing character meals altogether and just hit T-Rex at Downtown Disney.

If you're going in early Feb while Crystal Palace is in refurb, LTT will have character meals. My DS (11 the first time we went) absolutely LOVED it and specifically requested to go again the next year. Another LOVED it is Chef Mickey's (still wants to go back and he's now 13).

I've heard that TRex in DTD is really cool and I would think that Rainforest Cafe would be cool too.

But I wouldn't necessarily automatically rule out the "girly" dinners. We tried CRT for dinner last year and my son (then 12) said he loved it and would go back again. The dinner may be less girly - Fairy Godmother & Mice instead of Cindy.

It's not character dining but my son liked T-Rex in downtown Disney. Chef Mickey's is fun. Even though it is more geared towards girls he really liked the meal at 1900 Park Fare! The breakfast meal has a ton of characters...Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins.

My son liked Tusker House a lot. But we are doing O'hana this next trip and I think he will be SO happy. He loves Stitch!

We did the Donald and Goofy breakfast at AK when it was Breakfastasouras. Our group included 30 somethings. No kids! We had a blast. Goofy drug one of us out the emergency exit, chair and all! Locked him and he had to fight his way back in the front door!!!! SOOOOO Much fun!

So if Tusker House is anything close to this, it should be a blast! My vote and suggestion is for TH!

I am a HUGE DD fan so we try and go to all of his showings...

Places we have done include...

Chef Mickey's 2xs and never again
Grand Floridian 1x and yes would do it again
Mickeys Backyard BBQ. And Heck yeah I will continue to go to this!
Ohana 1x and this is a must. The food alone will keep you coming back. So much so that I order the juice a case at a time!

Had dinner at Akershus' in Epcot with DD10 and DS 6 last year. DS really liked it. Yes it was all princesses, but the castle theme is neat. DS told Mulan she was his favorite and Mulan got him out of his chair into the aisle and had him do some 'fighting' moves with her. It was really cute. He loved it.

Chef Mickey or Ohana breakfast. We did both last week and thought the Ohana characters were very rushed though. I'd vote for CM.
