Best character breakfast?

Tusker House!

I like Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House. The character interaction was fantastic. But it was the unlimited jamba juice (I think that is what they called it) that sold me. :worship: Yummy! I wish I could get this recipe. I think I had about four glasses of that stuff while I was there. There was also a great variety of food items for a breakfast buffet.

I agree. That juice is AMAZING! :thumbsup2

We loved both Chef Mickey's and Ohana for the Lilo and Stich breakfast. Crystal Palace was pretty good too. We weren't huge fans of Tusker House, it was very loud with the bare walls and floors.

If I had to pick one, it would be Ohana. I really don't think you could go wrong there.

For the atmosphere - Chef Mickey's (breakfast food is better than dinner, IMO)
Food - Cape May, with Tusker House a close second
Ohana's was nice, but my kids prefer buffet

We thought all the characters were great in each of the places, just depends on who you want to see. Mickey always has had a special place in my heart, so he gets top billing!!:goodvibes

We did a few character breakfasts on our trip and some were definatly better than others!

Crystal Palace: Our favorite breakfast, too bad it will not be open during your trip. The food was really good and the characters were fun. Plus nothing beats an empty Main St. if you have an early ADR!

Hollywood & Vine: Food was average but not bad. I wish they would change the characters from JoJo and Goliath to more well know Playhouse Disney characters like Handy Manny, but the kids liked the entertainment and dancing.

Chef Mickey's: The food was borderline gross when we were there but it is one of the meals that DS remembers the best (we ate there twice) and talks about how the characters were cooking. I hope we can get a Tusker House or Cape May reservation next trip and skip Chef Mickey's.

1900 Park Fare: Small buffet but the food was pretty good! I didn't like the fact that they make you take the picture before the meal, seems more forced than other meals. We liked the "different" characters and Alice and the Mad Hatter turned out to be huge hits with DS, plus they have Pooh and Tigger. It does seem a little hodge podge on characters but it was a fun meal.

For us its Chef Mickeys because the kids love the characters.

Ya what Is with the Food at Chef Mickeys???,before we went last Oct and I read all the reviews I was determinded to judge for my self, wow!!. The food was cold!.You would think It being a Delux hotel It would at least be hot. CP is by far the best we have yet to Cape may or tusker house, but both has to be better then CM.But saying all this we will probaly go back!! LOL.:rotfl2:

On our recent trip, which ended Jan 6th, we ate at four character breakfasts.

In first place, I vote for Tusker House. Food was excellent! The characters were really animated, especially Daisy. And the CMs were friendly and fun.

We also ate at Hollywood & Vine, which we also enjoyed even though the menu was not that diverse. We were one of the first parties to arrive so we were able to see Jo-Jo, Goliath, June, & Leo 3 or 4 times each. Fortunately my DD(6) still has a special place in her heart for what were once her two favorite shows (Little Einsteins & Jo-Jo's Circus), so, even though in her words "she wasn't a baby anymore," we had a lot of fun.

For DW's birthday, we ate at Cinderella's Castle. The portions were small, but the food was above average. Our main complaint was that for the price (we paid for it as opposed to using 2 table services), the interaction with the princesses was awful. Each rushed through with little more than a "would you like to take a picture." While DS(9) didn't care, DD was definitely upset that her favorite - Princess Aurora - didn't even thank for her coming or wish her a magical day.

Finally, in last place, I would put 1900 Park Fare. The food was cold, the characters were disinterested, with the exception of the Mad Hatter who was awesome, and the waiter was rude.

Can't complain about Cape May, Chef Mickey's or Ohana!

I also vote for Tusker House. The food was very good and was very different because it was African inspired. They also have the regular continental selections for the pickier eaters in the group. We are going to go to WDW next December and I think we might try the CP, but I would highly recommend the Tusker House!

On our trip in May we opted not to do any character breakfasts with the kids. On our honeymoon we loved our breakfasts at Cape May, Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey. Since we have a surprise trip coming up in a month and CP is closed we are going to try some breakfast options with the kids and no character dinners (loved Chef Mickey - did NOT like CP on my son's actual B-day). We will be doing Donald's breakfast at Tusker House and Cape May.

question- is there kid friendly foods at the family style service at Ohana?

My dd doesn't like eggs nor breakfast meats nor seasoned potatoes. She might eat sweet breads if they weren't too fancy.

I thought Ohana would be good because my mom dislikes the idea of a buffet and dd needs to meet Stitch. Our other choice is Cape May

You must be going the same time as us because that's when Crystal Palace will be closed!:guilty: It's my favorite place and I'm upset I won't get to enjoy the great meal there this year.

I'd say Chef Mickey's for a breakfast. I was dissapointed with the dinner there last time but the characters are great and every buffet has the same food for breakfast.

The Character breakfast at Ohana in the Poly is our fave. We love that the food is served family style and isn't just another buffet. We love the pineapple bread. We love the atmosphere & the conga line around the restaurant once an hour. We also love visiting the Poly, then just hopping on the monorail. :D

Second choice is the Cape May breakfast.

We loved Chef Mickeys when we were there in 06, and for our next trip 5/10 we are returning and trying out Cape May since we are staying at the beach club.

We love Tusker House Breakfast, good food and great character interaction. They have a musical parade for the kids.
Since you have 3 young kids, they will Love Hollywood and Vine character meal b/c they have a sing and dance party ever 15-20 and then a parade. You and your husband can take turns watching the kids dance while one eats. Its a great place for young kids.
