Having never been to a character breakfast, what do people recommend in terms of meal content/character interaction and location?

Thanks,

Nigel:D :D :D

Hey Nigel

When looking for a character breakfast I look for how much interaction you get in a small timescale so normally the smaller amount of seats the more interaction you get.

I also want the food to be hot and fresh

I've eaten at :

Chef Mickeys at Contemporary
Cape May Cafe at Beach Club
Crystal Palace at MK

All of them I would do again and was not disappointed with food or interaction, the servers will also make sure that you have seen all the characters.

We did the Crystal Palace Character Breakfast last October and found it very good. The buffet was OK (although not as much choice as a Ponderosa breakfast buffet). Each of the character (Eeyore & Piglet) did the rounds staying at each table for long enough to give the kids a hug and for you to take photos etc. Pooh stood in the middle of the restaurant and you had to queue to get to hug him etc. (queue was small and orderly).
Every now and then the whole place erupted in the napkin wave :)

Mmmmmm, best meal of the day.

We've only done two CBs - Hollywood and Vine and Chef Mickey's. Both were all yer can eat buffets and food was of a very high quality compared to Ponderosa/Sizzlers fare- which is our norm.

H&V was by far our favourite and Gaz, in particular, was feelin his age at Chef Mickey's, where the majority (on the day) were families with young children. Maybe it was just the days we went but H&V seemed to attract an older 'audience' and was more laid back. Chef Mickey's was very busy and the characters were bein rushed from table to table- much to Gaz's relief!

You should find everything you need to know about Character Meals at WDW here.

We loved Donalds Breakfastaurus :D

We do AK on our first day so stock up with brekkie here too. I thought the food was great. The servers were very funny (practical jokes etc) and the character interaction was good too.

We have also done H & V
Crystal Palace
Cindy's
1900 Park Fare

This year we are also trying the Princess Breakfast in Epcot and Chef Mickey's.

Cape May Cafe in the Y+B ( use the international gateway into Epcot) , The Crystal Palace in MK and Parkfare 1900 in the Grand Floridian are my 3 favourites.

You may want to base your choice on the characters you want to meet as each restaurant has a slightly different mix.

We're trying Chef Mickey's for the first time this trip as my nieces and nephews want to meet Mickey himself and CM's is one of the few breakfasts where he presides.

We've previously enjoyed all the other CBs we've been to, including H&Vine, CPalace, 1900 PF, GGrill. They were all good, although I didn't like the GGrill as much as the others.

Another vote for Donalds Breafstsaurus we ( family of 5 ) loved it.

Our DS 15 avoided the characters but loved the food!!

We booked a lateish time about 10.30 i think. That way we were early to the park & did several rides before breakfast & after eating we didn't need to stop for lunch. Just drank lots & lots.

Mickey was at this breakfast along with Donald & Goofy.

Yet another vote for Donalds Breakfastaurus!

We ate about 10.15 which allowed us to do the Safari etc first. One piece of advice though - do Dinosaur BEFORE breakfast!

:(

Thanks everyone.

Here was I thinking that this was going to be a simple decision!!

Anyway, I now have plenty to consider, and at least I still have a few weeks to make up my mind.

If you've decided I recommend trying to get PS. We are going on Oct 6th and when I tried to book the earliest breakfast I could get at 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey was 10.30.

Good luck
Helen

I booked 1900 Park fare at 9am on a Friday a couple of weeks ago while I was at WDW. I didn't have any problems - maybe Sundays are more popular - or I was just lucky.
