We were thinking of Chef Mickey at the Contemporary....

Any other suggestions?

Whats the best way to book this?

I am probably not the best person to advise you as we have never done a Character meal, Joshua doesn't like going in restuarants.

It depends on whether you want a noisy or quiet atmosphere, or a hotel or theme park option.
The characters also vary depending on where you dine, so that could be a consideration maybe.

Chef Mickey's (noisy)
Crystal Palace at MK (noisy)
1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian (quiet)
Cape May at Beach Club villas (quiet)

These 4 were highly recommended to me, unfortunatley despite booking CP and Cape May we were unable to go.

You can book up to 180 days in advance by calling 001-407-939-3463

Are there any particular characters your 3 year old likes? We are Lilo and Stitch fans so loved the one at Ohana's in the Polynesian - there's a parade for the younger kids and the characters come around very frequently. It also features Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale and there's great interaction between the characters. We liked Chef Mickey's too but, for us, Ohana's was just more fun. The food was yummy too... :thumbsup2

As far as booking goes, we made phone reservations 90 days in advance for a whole host of restaurants, which worked out fine.

If your little one likes Playhouse Disney, there is now a breakfast at MGM featuring Jo, Jo, Goliath and the Little Einstien's.

We are going in january and we have booked CP and that's with Winnie the Pooh & friends for breakfast, also booked Donald's breafastosaurus in AK for our DS 3rd birthday and that's with Donald, Mickey Goofy & Pluto, we have also booked chef mickey's but that's for an evening, we did breakfast at Ohana's last time we went, last was great just want to try different places this time.

To be honest, he pretty much likes all of them with his favourites probably being Mickey, Tigger, Pooh.

Do you NEED to book that far in advance? Is it that busy?

We're actually going in just under two weeks.... pirate:

When my nephew was younger his favourite was Chef Mickeys as he loved standing on the chair and waving his napkin in the air to the tune of 'celebrate with Mickey Mouse' - not sure this is the correct name.

It is noisy but he absolutely loved it and he was two and a half when he first went.

It probably depends on which breakfast you are thinking of booking, Crystal Palace at MK for example gets extremely busy - if you have a definite date in mind then it's always safer to book in advance.

Probably not too bad in October. We were there in August and all dining options were unbelievably busy so we were glad to have booked in advance. If you want to see Pooh and Tigger, then the Crystal Palace in MK is fab and v popular - not restricted to just breakfast either as they do a character lunch/dinner too... :sunny:

I would just go ahead and call and book something if they have your time available for the character meal you want. I know with a 3 year old you don't want the 9:30pm dinner or 10:30am breakfast so it's better to be safe and know you have it. :)

My favorite is the CP breakfast with Pooh and friends. It has the best food I've seen for breakfast and the characters spend more time with the kids than at most places. Chef Mickey's isn't bad if you want to see Mickey. For Princesses go to breakfast at Epcot in Norway, but the food is marginal at best.

I think that would be a good choice.
To be honest ANY will be fine, it's great that they are all different and just means there are more options to choose from.
