apparently I don't have the "best" but the iphone SE produces nice pics

Surprised the Pixel ranked below the iPhone based on the previous reviews I've read. The V20 and LG G5 give you true wide angle options which is cool... I have a 7 plus and it's decent. Surprisingly nice in good light, landscape type shots.

I think the pixel rated lower only because of how they calculated it. The pixel lost points for not having stabilization, and didn't necessarily gain points for some of their still image innovation.

And I'm shocked at how good the iPhone 7 is in low light. It can shoot at some incredibly slow shutter speeds, combined with 1.8 aperture... for still objects is really has incredible low light ability. One less reason for people to *need* a dSLR.

yes larger lens and slower shutter speeds have really helped the low light cell phone pics

Wife and I both have the iPhone 6s+ and find the "low light ability" all over the place, sometimes great and sometime just downright pathetic, no consistency at all. We both had Samsung phones (5's) before switching to iPhones and found the cameras to be great albeit a bit "oversaturated" sometimes but not awful. Due for upgrades later this year but not sure what I will really do. 6s+ great for grab shots but when it comes to "quality keeper" pics, I still defer to DSLR.

Just my $.02

I just noticed the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a "pro" mode where you can shoot in "raw" (DNG) if you want to further edit your cell phone pics. You can also adjust some settings although the aperture is fixed at f1.7
