Best casual restaurants with decent steaks?

I will be going to Universal with a big steak fiend. A lot has changed since I last visited so I’m wondering particularly about the newer restaurants or changed menus.

If this belongs in the menu thread, I apologize. It wasn’t clear lol. I’d appreciate any comments!

I don`t think the casual restaurants are very good for steaks being honest, any time we`ve tried we have been severely disappointed.

Big Fire was one of the worst for us and certainly won`t go back but Citywalk in general is not the best for steaks we have found.

The Palm is probably the best option onsite, I do think since Landry`s took it over it`s not just as amazing as it used to be, but still decent and worth a visit. There are some amazing options a short Uber ride away if you wanted more options.

Agreed, The Palm is probably the only halfway decent steak option...but still not amazing.

On the other hand, I have enjoyed my steak at Bigfire, so this may be an instance of your milage may vary.

I actually really liked big fire.

But like most places seems like it just depends who cooks it. The friend I went with his wasn't nearly as good as mine

Glad you enjoyed it, our experience was well below par, many friends had told us we wouldn`t like it, I should have listened,

I can’t imagine any restaurant on site having good steak. We didn’t enjoy any of the food we had our last visit.

I’m not a fan of Hard Rock Cafes in general.

Went to the citiwalk location with a friend. Service was, as expected, lackadaisical @ best. Argued with me over serving a miami vice that was anything but, however, the steak was surprisingly good. Probably a one off lol

Yeah - I tend to avoid Hard Rock - always annoys me when we are in Europe and people are lined out outside Hard Rock waiting to get in.
That said - at Universal - the restaurants are nothing special - so I did go to Hard Rock one or twice.
Prices are a bit more reasonable as well - compared to Universal.

Another place I was surprised by was Vivo Italian Kitchen. In all my years of going to Universal I've never been here.
I saw a post that it was the best Pizza on property. They also have a nice bar so I tried it and ended up back several nights.
Its a nice quite bar and the pizza was really good. Also tried some of the pasta and also very good.

The service was top notch - the bartender - Germany - yeah his name is Germany - was some of the best service I've had anywhere on property. Really friendly and will bend over backwards to take care of the customer. One of the few folks I did not mind tipping 20% on a way overpriced beer.

Anyway they also have a steak there so may be worth checking out.
