We're stayng at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. :) We'll probably eat out most nights, and cook in some nights. But we'll probably want carry-out for a night or two.

We already know where the pizza places are. But we're looking for a good carry out chicken dinner.

I know that Trails-End at Ft Wilderness has good chicken. But it's somewhat pricey. And probably a little out of the way for most (especially if you have to take an internal bus from the Fort parking lot).

We're not into KFC (funny, because we live in Kentucky). Any other places like KFC? We have Lee's here in the Cincinnati area, but i don't think it goes into Orlando.

I know Bob Evans and Cracker Barrell has carry out. I also know that the supermarkets have carry out as well. I especially heard good things about Publix's chicken. Would that be the best?

As always, many thanks. :)

Publix is good and Goodings (opposite entrance to Hotel Plaza) Lake Buena Vista also has good chicken for take out.

Super Walmart and Super Target are both within 15 minutes of DTD and both will have good prices on thier deli chicken. (we done both at home and found both to be good as long as you like a heavier breading KFC/Popeys have a thinner type breading)

Love the publix rotis chicken, its so yummy and reasonably priced
Agree, and they have several flavors. Publix also has a wide variety of side dishes, including both hot and cold sides.

However, I would run -- not walk -- away from Publix chicken tenders. They look good, but every time I get them they are hard as concrete. I think they cook them the day before.

For fried chicken I go to Popeyes on Sand Lake Road. I am usually very satisfied with my fried chicken from there. Always hot and freshly cooked. Suggestion: Go to their website and print coupons. Currently they are running a 15pc special for $14.99. They do not expire until 12/2013. I have one printed already. ;)

For Rotisserie chicken we have been happy with Publix and Walmart. I buy Walmart more often because of convenience since its right down the street from my timeshare resort. I also like Publix and have been satisfied with them also. Its so easy to grab a couple of chickens, a bag or two of salad, and a bottle of dressing.

Thanks for the recommendations. A few things.

How much will one chicken feed. There's three adults and one four-year-old. She will be five during th trip.

Would the chicken be fresh? i hesitate buying roto chicken at our local supermarket, because it's usually so dry (probably sitting under a heat lamp for hours).

We like Popeyes as well. However, it might be a little too spicy for the little one.

I did a Mapquest to Popeyes, and it's still a 20 mile round trip. It's mostly I-4 though. Mapquest says it's a 15 minute trip. However, how bad would it be during supper time/rush hour?

Depending on how much your family can eat. We are a family of 2 but traveled with others and one was good for us but if my friends husband came we would have needed 2

Thanks. We'd probably get two then. Nothing says vacation like leftover chicken for breakfast. :rotfl:

In San Antonio, Tx Church's is very popular. Our picky eater likes the chicken tenders. All our children prefer the tenders. Not sure how far from WDW the nearest Chruch's is located.

If you are at Wyndam Bonnet Creek then the Popeyes on Sand Lake is probably about 15 to 20 minutes away. That is the only Popeyes I have been to while visiting Orlando area. From Lake Buena Vista I THINK the exit for Sand Lake Road is 3 or 4 exits back on I-4. But Popeyes.com does show others in the area. But I am not familiar with them. I would love to try Church's chicken while I am there. I think I will look for it this trip.

Publix! We loved bringing it back to the condo for a easy dinner and eating with potato chips.

Publix fried chicken is excellent and reasonably priced. Eight pieces is for less than $10 and that usually includes a side dish or a gallon of brewed tea. All there deli foods have a serve time window written on the tag. You can choose the one that is the freshest.

We love to go to Chick-fil-A and it is fairly close to DTD. I think it is on 535? Especially love their waffle fries! Sometimes they have family night, but it is individual to each restaurant. We hit one in St. Augustine once and the meals were buy 1 get one free.
