Need suggestions: Looking for possible car rental to get some groceries our first day - we are staying low-key this day and have time. Is there a company that will pick me up at one of the All Star Resorts.

FYI - I have had groceries delivered in the past and really prefer to go to the store myself this trip as we will have an extended stay.

Any suggestions for a car rental company at Disney?

Alamo, you can drop off and pick up at Car Care Center (near Epcot) we walked from there once but I think they will pick you up. You could rent it at the airport and drop it off there when finished it may be cheaper that way. SUPER easy renting from them at MCO

If you want a rental car for any length of stay, costco travel almost always has the best rates

We used Alamo at the Car Care Center and found it to be very convenient. We were staying at POFQ and arranged for the shuttle to take us there to pick up our car the first morning of our trip. The day before we left we dropped the car off and the shuttle took us back to our resort. This allowed us to use Magical Express to and from the airport and not have to worry about handling our luggage. It also allowed us to get by with a smaller, less expensive vehicle since we had four adults, 8 pieces of checked luggage and various carry-on pieces. We were not traveling light.

I also think Costco travel has the best rates.

You can rent from Alamo; they have an agency right at the Car Care Center. They'll send a shuttle to pick you up when you are getting the car and then after you drop it off, they'll shuttle you to wherever you need to go (obviously you'll drop off the groceries first!). Just make sure you plan within the timeframe of when they are open! There is also a National rental desk at the Dolphin (I believe). YOu can search on the Alamo and National webpages to see where in the Orlando area they have rental desks; I know there are a few at the DTD hotels (maybe Enterprise, too).

Another suggestion is to send your luggage and other party members on Magical Express and rent a car for yourself at MCO. YOu could drive to your resort, stopping for groceries along the way. Then drop the car at the CCC. Only thing to consider is that there may be a one-way drop charge. That can get expensive, quickly. (I guess after grocery shopping and unloading at your hotel, you could return the car to MCO and then take ME back to your resort. NOt sure that this is the way ME was intended to be used, but you ARE staying onsite and therefore qualified to ride DME from the airport to your resort!)
