Best Buy electronic recycle program

Just saw this one their website...they now recycle old electronics for cash or GC. Has anyone had any experience with this? I have an Ipod touch 1st gen. and I want the new 3G. Looking for ways to keep the cost down for Christmas.

I sent two cell phones to them...a Samsung where the slider doesn't work (so the QWERTY keyboard can't be accessed) and a Blackberry that was a POS. Should be getting the gift cards any day now...

Before you do the Best Buy trade in, check with Apple. A friend told me that they will give you some type of credit for trading in old ipods.
